I work for the NHS, so see loads of doctors, and why!! do they wear bowties. They look ridiculous! Or am I alone in wonderig why you'd want to make yourself look like such a goon/mp/doctor?!

More hygienic for a doc to wear a bow tie than an ordinary tie.

Bow ties are friggin' awesome. Any lecturer i see wearing one instantly gains respect from me
It takes some guts to wear something that is...well...sort of comedic and a shuffle camp

Oh, and sarahs right. Far more hygenic. Wouldnt want a doctors tie dangling in his scrambled eggs, then dangling in your open would 6 hours later

Like certain other pasttimes, do what you like on your own but keep it outta my face!

Any occassion other than when the rest of your outfit is black tie, it looks ridiculous. You look like some daffy academic or some relic of the 70s TV pundit.
+1 for Doctors
Altenative open neck is not very professional
Tie left flapping = No
Tie tucked away = not very good either.
Therefore it suits hospital doctors
I think I need to start wearing a bow tie now, it will go well with my fedora.

Not sure I would be too happy about a Doctor's dickie being displayed right in my face.

but bowtie is normally following the word 'novelty'
Maybe if Russel Brand wore one it would catch on;)
