Can anyone recommend a decent Hotel near the City center? Everything seems full on the net (the Police are playing Millenium Stadium).
so far only the hilton got room and at £320 a night is bit rich for my blood.

There are a fair few chain hotels that would be fine in the city centre.
I've stayed here (http://www.thebigsleephotel.com/home.asp?hotelid=1)a few times before we moved to Cardiff (I think they up their prices when there is stuff going on at the stadium though).
What dates are you looking at?
Have you tried any websites like expedia?

Yep tried things like late rooms, Expedia, etc. Expedia usually very good, but nothing this time.
The dates are 19th and 20th October.
The big sleep is full too.
Thanks guys, keep em coming!
Doesn't look good.
Have you tried the tourist office?
There are quite a few B&Bs near the centre of Cardiff.
Failing that, how about staying in Newport (or somewhere else nearby) and getting a train in?

was thinking of that Sarah, and it looks like that might be the case.
Wanted to go out in Cardiff Saturday night, so wanted something close so we don't have to worry about transport.
Hoping the locals might know somewhere, but TBH every website is saying Cardiff full on the 19th!

Might be worth phoning up every B&B you can find. Anywhere on Cathedral Road or Newport Road would be fairly close to town. Here (http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do?scrambleSeed=19512015&keywords=bed+and+breakfast&companyName=&location=cardiff&search=SEARCH&M=0)are a few.

No probs. Some of the ones on Newport Road don't look the classiest of establishments! Also, I just had a quick look on yell.co.uk and discovered there is at least one on Newport Road that is quite a way out of town, but easily taxiable into town.
Seems that however many new hotels they build there are still not enough in Cardiff.

It's the concert in the millenium that's doing it. 6 weeks is obviously too late!
why not stay in charlotte churchs mothers house (she owns a b&b)

It's called The Church Hotel.

Yeah - a lot of them cater for builders, etc working in Cardiff on the many construction projects. Prob not what you want.
Cathedral Road is very pleasant and hotels will be more in keeping with what you're used to ;)
Have you tried Churchill's Hotel?
Do not, under any circumstances, book into the Wynford Hotel....... their night-club is known locally as "The Parachute Club" for reasons that you will guess

Looks like everywhere is booked up, Newport Road would be preferable to Newport (I think).
found this one for yer......
