Hi, I'm am trying to fit a cheap ebay hugger. I'm starting to think I should have paid more and gone with Pyramind. But before I give in, how do you remove the toolbox? As I cant get hugger to fit properly with it there.

Any info appreciated!

cheers

you will have to buy one for the model you have.

K4 + have the tool box in the way, so needs a dif hugger to the K3.

I cut my tool box off, only to show my WP Shock!

Sad I know!

I put the tools under the pillion seat.

Dumb question coming up - the hugger is down by the rear tyre, how does this affect the tool kit under the pillion seat?

Toolkit box is located on the left side of the bike, just below the front edge of the tail plastics (or thereabouts).

Herein lies the problem I believe the K3 has no tool box, and the K4 and after have a tool box located down below on left side near rear wheel. When trying to install a hugger if its for the wrong SV ie. not taking into account the toolbox it wont fit. unfortunately which I've learned the hard way.

cheers dave (will get it right next time)

Indeed true

I just modded the hugger with a bandsaw............

A toolbox?, are you guys saying there is a toolbox on the SV K4 models? All i know is there is a toolkit that sits under the pillion seat compartment.

yep, I can only say for my K5 there is a toolbox with kit in it by suspension, not under the seat

There is no issue with the K5-K7 at least. The OEM hugger drops right in, a ten minute job at worst case. Cannot comment on K3-K4 models, but also cannot imagine any difference at all with a K4 and very little with a K3. Barring the unfortunate frame color.
