View Full Version : Onyerbike off and in hospital

I've just spoken to Marius's mum, he had a pretty big off on Saturday and is still in hospital, though he's recovering. He's not in any danger but it turns out combine harvesters leave big dents in puny humans. Who knew?
I understand he broke his femur and dislocated his shoulder and possibly knee, as well as assorted other injuries- he should hopefully make a good recovery though it's early days for that sort of injury.
He's still in the ERI and quite sedated, so I've not spoken to him directly... Though I'm sure visitors will be very welcome, especially once the initial rush have been and gone, she thought he'd be in hospital for a while longer. I have a contact number for his phone on the ward, which I won't give out publically- get well soons etc would be good in here but if you want to get in touch yourself PM or text me (07796896173) and I'll pass on his details. His mum has his mobile but I think she'd probably not appreciate being bombarded with calls just now. I also have the all-important real life name, which takes a lot of the fun out of visiting but will be quite handy.
Get well soon!
Best wishes...GWS! Sounds bloody painful.

Just got back in and read this one....... Hmmm yet again the curse of a bike for sale strikes.:( Seems to be that every time someone on here goes to sell a bike, they crash it..... so I'm keeping mine for ever and ever;).
Best wishes to you Marius for a quality healing job. I won't say soon 'cos it's more important that it's a good recovery rather than a fast one.
Garry:rolleyes:
Oh no, I thought he sold/was selling the bike on Ebay so he could get a car for winter as well.
GWS onyerbike.
Crap news mate. Pass on my best wishes folks.

I think it was the SV, his mum mentioned something about having found a buyer too. Not completely sure though.

The number I have is his own phone in the ward, and I've not managed to speak to him- I think he's probably got it switched off most of the time for sleeping etc. So if I don't have any luck with the phone tomorrow I'll go wake him up. :smt045

I've just spoken to the elusive Mr Onyerbike, be warned, he's got internet access so no talking about him behind his back- but he can't post just now, read only, the hospital internet access is rubbish apparently.
Anyway... Butcher's bill is much as described, broken hand, arm and dislocated shoulder, broken shaft of the femus (ie, leg not hip) which I think is going to take time to fix, physio etc. But he's in the recuperation ward rather than high dependancy, which is good news, and they're looking to get him home soon. \\:D/
I'm going to pop in tomorrow and take him some of the mandatory pointless grapes, because I bet that's all he needs to make his stay complete. That, and some supportive abuse. If you have any abuse of your own which you wish passed on, let me know.
Just seen this, GWS soon pal, hope you,re up and about soon

Only just read this
Hope you get better soon Onyerbike.

Just popped in to see him this evening. He's doing surprisingly well, for a man who headbutted a large piece of agricultural machinery. Big old arm cast, and the leg's going to need a bit of t-cut, but the word is he'll be out tomorrow if he manages to fool the occupational therapist. So, I'll let him tell the rest when he gets out.
I think the best option is we cut off the damaged parts and streetfighter him.

And of course you will take the cutoffs repair them and leave them in your garage in case you ever need them ;)

I could use a leg if you're going to have one left over, don't mind the condition...
