there ok as long as your paying them:confused:
anyone had any dealings with MCE? my insurance with them is through a company called NIG? MCE said i should deal directly with them, i phone'd them to see what was going on and they gave me another number to ring? a guy on this number said i had to ring my local suzuki cowboys to arrange collection of the bike? i phoned the cowboys and all they were interested in was £££££££. so i phoned NIG again and requested a estimate to be done at my home, they said they would ring me back and that was 2 hours ago?:smt088

Insurance monkeys, of any description, are a complete pain in the ass to deal with....but then you already knew that :)
You have my sympathy.:smt056
Broker MCE is only interested in selling, and getting commission.
NIG are a reputable insurer and in my experience they play a straight bat. I don't think 2 hours is unresonable TBH.

Ok, let me put the boot slightly on the other foot.
For many years my family business was consulting automotive engineers and claims assessors. The number of people who wanted their vehicles inspected on Saturdays and Sundays. Stock reply was "I am sorry but our engineers are totally unreasonable, they expect to spend the weekends with their families".
TBH, it is far easier to inspect and agree repairs when on the repairers premises. Many times estimates include for replacement panels that can be repaired etc. Only by having the guy who will be doing the job actually there can an accurate assessment be done, when all can see the extent of the damage.
Also please recognise the assessor knows the repairers very well. There will be times he will not agree a repair estimate and insist the bike is moved to another repairer etc. either for cost or quality reasons etc.

NIG are rubbish when trying to contact them Kwak, had the same issue with my claim last year. Was given several contact numbers and everytime I called I was given another. Took them over 24 hours to return one of my calls, but persevere and get a single contact point. Once I got to that stage they were pretty quick with everything else mate, it'll soon be sorted :)

You dont have to take it to your local dealer, its just easier for your insurance company if you take it to their nearest approved repairer, which sounds like your Local suzuki dealer is.
I've done this in the past before with insurance claims and its taken a bit longer, but its not been that much problem.
