Does anyone have some pics of the layout of Crail raceway? Can't see much in the pics on their website or on google.
Also any info on what the track is like would be gratefully recieved as I'm thinking of practising on it next year.
Cheers

Crail raceway is also known as Crail Airfield, so yup, I'd say thats it.

isn't crail basically just a drag strip down one of the old runways?

isn't crail basically just a drag strip down one of the old runways? If it is then it's no use to me. I need some practice time on my tzr250. But its a track bike so can't take it on the road. Anyone know anywhere else apart from knockhill?

East Fortune? East of Edinburgh is a proper road-racing circuit. Never been for racing there so no details.
Whats your 250? A Parallel or a "V"? Just a nosey bugger thats all;):D
One day I WILL have a stinkwheel again!

I haven't been to Crail for a little while, however I dont think they will have made any major changes. Last time I was there they had a 1/4 mile drag strip with electronic timing. At the end of the strip you (preferably) slowed down and took a sharp left and followed a triangle road layout back to the start and lined up for your next run.

Its a 2 stroke. I had a wee ride up and down the street by my house (private road) and it is **** hot fast! When it hits 9000rpm it just takes off.
I'm not used to the type of engine though so I need practise. I use the engine braking a lot on my SV in the corners, so I need to learn to use the brakes (which badly need bled and new pads - winter project)

i don't know if East Fortune do track days but if they do get to it... its a far better track than Cockhill... Its doesn't have any facilities (basically a truck with lavvies and a bus as race control)

yip look in to East Fortune, my uncle used to do road racing and im sure he hired the use of it a few times to do set up / practice + his son has just started mini motos and im sure he took him there for a practice. Its next to the flight museum so if you have problems getting a number to phone you could try them and see if they have any info. Remember they dont have nice gravel to slow you down if you come off, though if your fast with your hands you might be able to pick a few potato's as you slide along the ground haha the back straight always has lots of moss on it as well so you get the satisfying noise of your bike screaming at you that you have no grip haha. Good track though!! (Plus its not built at the top of a big windy hill like KH)
