Hello folks,
Been browsing your forum for a few days now and i have found it very informative.
Bought a black curvy SV 650 2001 on Saturday (first big bike) and i am waiting for the shop to prepare it for collection. Its standard apart from a clear double bubble screen. Hopefully i will get it before it starts peeing down and get some miles under the belt. Only passed my test last week\\:D/
I know very little about mechanics etc but i am hoping to at least do my own oil and filter change:confused:
Anyway thanks for reading I hope to learn from you all, perhaps even meet up on a ride out once i have got the hang of the bike;)
Cheers
DAN
ps: Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place

Good luck.

Hi, yes im about 30 miles south of Birmingham, I actually work in Brierley Hill/Dudley so I go up that way almost daily.
I started out in 1996 on a Debia Senda 50cc then I took the car route at 17. I really wanted a bike and car but being a scrounging student i couldnt afford both. In January this year I decided it was time to get back into it, i bought a Yamaha DTX 125 and quickly got bored. I kept it about three months and sold it on. Then made an impulse buy on a 97 cbr 600 (It was too good to miss, honest!!) much to the disgust of the girlfriend. I ended up selling that and taking direct access this month. Passed that little beauty and opted for a more sensible beginner bike the SV.
And so it begins........again

Droitwich Spa! the land of the salt if i'm not mistaken. I grew up an Hanbury mate, about 5 miles down the road. Used to drink at the pillar of salt and Trotter Hall, as it was called then. I have seen one other SV'er on this forum from Droitwich. I'm in Oxford now though, but still pop round evry now and again to see family.

Land of the salt indeed. Trotters Hall is now the Copcut Elm (unless they have changed it again without me noticing, which is entirely possible):smt081
Hanbury is only round the corner, lovely place. I live on the Primsland estate not too far from the Spring Meadow/Tesco express:cool: been in Droitwich 18 months now lived in Worcester most of me life :D

I have seen one other SV'er on this forum from Droitwich.
That would probably be me then:D
I'm sure I've seen you around, thats if your black bike is the S model half faired one I saw the other week coming up the 38 past the farm shop. Your bike looked good, just needs a can now so it sounds as good as it looks.
When I get the TL back on the road (awaiting new tyres:() I'll be up for a rideout with ya. Only bike I have access to at the moment is the other half's 125 Honda Cityfly, which is loads of fun but not that fast.
