A pair of FIAMMS or Steilbl(sp?) should do the trick.

With that you will need a relay some wire, some spade connectors, and a bit of know how. I'll try and find the link on the main page on a how to.

Mount the horns on the top radiator mounting bolts, bend the brackets you get with the horns out a little so they clear the forks.

Fitting instructions on the main site, in the FAQ section.

Fiamms about £15 from Halfords.

No room on the viffer for em. Looking at some air horns somewhere on the bike.

Don't use the relay kit Halfords sell, the relay's rubbish. Maplin do a much better one, or VWP too.

You can safely run one of the snailshell FIAMMs as a direct replacement, no relay- I've been doing that for about 6 months since the other one died and I removed my orrible wiring. They're designed to work as a pair, though, just using one loses the dissonance effects, which is what makes them work so well (twin FIAMMs are more effective than a much louder horn, as they're so penetrating and obnoxious)

Easiest fitment for yours is to bolt them to the radiator mounts-

Not washing it is optional.

I have one on my SV to, though I did it with a relay as I found that unless I was running the bike it was a little wet.

And make sure you angle the horn so that it doesn't collect water else its overnight on the rad in the house to get it working again.

Just ordered a Stebel from www.nippynormans.com (http://www.nippynormans.com) 136dB £12, they do a 139dB too for £23.

Plowsie, if you want mate, buy a single magnum (it's better than stock, and if you're not happy you can add to it later) and I'll fit it for you at the next meet.

I watched over SoulKiss (and drank beer) whilst he fitted one on the AR. With the stock meeper, you can just take the wires off, and put them on the magnum.

I'll show you mine when we next meet too. :D

So would one of the Stebel Nautilus compacts at 139dB from 'Nippy Normans' fit easily onto a K3 pointy?
Anyone tried it/done it?????????

Make sure you watch the guy who next MOTs your bike. It's such a laugh watching him jump out of his skin when he tests them.

My tester even had a trainee who was not there when he first heard them so asked him to listen up close to see if he could hear any clicking from the horns. Rotten thing to do to him, probably deafened him but seemed funny at the time.

Every year my guy just about ends up stuck in the rafters. And every year he says the same "You did that to me last year as well didn't you, you *******" :smt025

It dawns on me I have a spare pair of the FIAMM airhorns now, but they're only about £15 new so they're barely worth selling  But if anyone's interested, £10 and I'll chuck in a relay and the set of rubbish aluminium brackets I made for fitment to a faired curvy.

They're this sort:

Sorry to be a pedant, but those are electro-magnetic horns, not air horns.

Still nice and loud though!

LP's right. Air horns usually (not always though) have an air line coming from them to a compressor. Like my new ones do. :D

How loud are they Northy? I'd be interested for the sake of a tenner! Or is there any louder ones available for a similar price?

Not as loud as the Nautilus, which is pretty much a sonic cannon  But still, pretty damn loud. I don't know the numbers unfortunately- some claim 132db, others 143, I don't believe the second tbh.

I'd definately say they're a better option than the Magnum, though- they're possibly not as loud but the dual-tone dissonance effect makes them miles more attention-grabbing, I was pretty unimpressed when I heard a Magnum.

So aye, at £10 I reckon they're a good deal, but then I'd say that wouldn't I :) They're not much more new, though. I'd sooner fit a Nautilus but they're big and awkward, the real selling point of the FIAMMs is that they're smaller and lighter-- easy to fit:

The wiring takes a wee bit longer but the actual horn fitment you can do in about 5 minutes without removing the fairings, if you have girlyhands.

Ok well for the sake of £10 I'll have them- gotta be better than standard!
