Went into the Purley HG today to get some of this but they didn't have it so I bought some Auto glym motorcycle cleaner instead. Not even sure if it's any good, just wanted to buy something and the bike needs a wash.

I've had stuff lying around my garage for years. Found some Gunk in there the other day and used it to clean the fling off the back wheel and also to get the thickened grease crap off the rear shock and inside the hugger. I had forgotten just how good it is. Wonder if it's still on sale..

So why tease us with it if you've never got it? Bad girl, go sit in the corner.

Yep- seems very good folks. Bought the last bottle from Glasgows shelf on Saturday. When cleaning, I was very careful (worried!) not to leave it on too long in case it got at anything in a bad way. This was driven by the fact that the bottle emphasises very strongly about not leaving on too long and rinsing very thoroughly etc.

Well it was all going great and here's me thinking it works wonders on me black k5 wheels........ cutting through all that chain lube etc, when - wait! What's all this then?

The paint looks dull in parts - is it eating through it to the metal below?...........

...No - turns out to be caked on brake dust (the shame of it:(). I've not had a chance to give the bike the good clean it deserves until now. Anyway, the rear wheel wasn't too bad, but I was looking close and spotted it. The front however, as you'd expect, had a fair old accumulation up the leading edge of the spoke. I'll tackle that another day.

Looks like good stuff at a cheapo £2.99. We'd been using Autoglym at considerably more pennies for the last two years. My ride is looking lovely and shiny once again. Just in time for my advanced test on Sunday. After that, it's a new set of tyres, since the rear has been square for ages and is approaching the wear markers after 8000m plus.

Hey HG peoples why does the Pro Sports jacket zip not match the trousers. I got some and the jacket zip is about 50mm longer than the trouser zip? Surely they should meet up eh?

Perhaps Laura (or another HG employee) can answer this little dilema....

.....Having used the remainder of our 1st ltr spray bottle, I decided to pick up a 5ltr can. Whilst I was at it, I collected a copy of the new catalogue. Now since my 1ltr bottle WITH SPRAY HEAD cost £2.99, I expected to save money by buying in bulk. The loss comes to the user in the form of the spray wearing out in time after which a new bottle can be purchased. Well, that's what I thought anyway. I actually paid £16.99 for the 5ltr can since the store had no more sprays in stock.....

......£16.99 divided by 5 = £3.40(ish) per ltr plus the inconvenience of spilling some for the first pouring due to the can being topped up so far allowing very little tilt before flow. That's in spite of using a funnel in the bottle over the sink too.

The new catalogue lists the 5ltr at £16.99, but the spray I could not see beside it.

Cheers,

Garry:-|
