Have you guys decided where you are staying yet?
Nice one, does this mean your staying overnight and not meeting us on the Sunday anymore?
With these numbers I'm a definate in the cage to join you in the evening. Anybody need a lift (OYB, KG)? Anybody need tents, overnight bags or stuff taken in the cage drop me a PM, you just need to drop it off to Harthill before the event or on the Saturday morning.
Strongly suggest everyone get thier preferred accomodation booked otherwise it won't happen. http://www.highrange.co.uk/ motel, chalets and camping available all on the same site (Northy's excellent brainchild not mine). I'll book my tent pitch in the morning.

been looking for digs in Aviemore for a night on the 'net. Spaces are scarce. Cost £30 per person:smt103:smt103:smt103 For B&B. Could go to Inverness for cheaper and get free booze and bed.

I can't join the rideout 'cos I've got to entertain my mother during the day both Saturday and Sunday! All I'm gonna do is hack up the M90/A9 about 4:30ish and meet up with you in Aviemore about 6:30-7pm. Then in the morning get up and go home. It's a straight and boring run, no point in taking the bike, just putting miles on it, squaring off my tyres, getting a sore **** and wasting time bungeeing a tent and sleeping bag to the pillion. Besides theres a good chance it'll be in Saltire getting new fork lowers.

Ok, i phoned the bunkhouse to enquire about spaces. Thought they'd be gone but....
They still have an 8-bed dorm free and two 6-bed dorms free.
All have a shower in the room, bedding linen, towels etc provided in the price. Full use of the kitchen, tea/coffee etc. included, just bring your own grub. £15 per person. This saves on taking camping guff, so I'm doing this.
Pub next door has good bar meals for the evening. :drunken:
Jimmy, RE: your pm. Are you needing two beds?
Anyone else want me to book a space, let me know asap.

Likewise, I just contacted the High Range (and spoke to a guy with an amazing gravelly voice, like Clint Eastwood with pneumonia) and they have good availability for the motel that weekend, though he recommends booking up soon. The chalets aren't available for such short leases. "Camping?", he says, with a note of surprise in his demonic scraping voice... "Well, some people do use it but there's not an awful lot of demand at this time of year. It's quite cold, you see". Yes I do.
Twins are £45 per night (per room), no catering. It's a new facility, bar on site, and about 5 minutes from the town itself.
I do like the idea of the bunkhouse though, it's easy... Book up a whole dorm so it's just us with no potential murderers that we're not already aware of.
-Ralph-
26-09-07, 01:39 PM
15 quid a night? I don't have to pitch a tent and still get to be a skinflint? OK, I'll take a bed in a dorm. Any others want a dorm bed? We need another person (or 3 folk depending on Jimmy) to get a 6 bed room to ourselves or 3 folk (or 5) for an 8 bed, as Northy says, serial killers need not apply ;). I'll phone Kilted Ginger tonight and see if he's up for it and well enough to keep me company in the cage.
Haggis, if you need to pay up front, drop a PM with a acc no and I'll reimburse my 15 quid by internet banking.
ill have the other dorm bed + can send funds direct to bank if i have the acc no as well
Looks like we'll need the 6 bed at least.:rave:
Net banking's fine by me, i'll ask if they want it up front when i confirm the booking. If they dont, all the better.

You don't wanna go to a B&B with my uncle. You've to get to bed and sleep first before my bear in a cave uncle keeps everyone awake with his excessive loud snoring. At this years Northwest 200 I actually stuffed his socks in his mouth in a vain effort to drown the noise.....:smt088:smt088:smt088 To no effect:mad::mad: Ended up grabbing the duvet and pillow and going down to the TV lounge couch just to get to sleep.
Haggis - get a bed booked up for me at the Bunkhouse. Cannae be bothered going up to Inverness just to sleep and the A9 in the dark on a bike is lethal.

oooohhhh, now there's a proper game! Used to love watching ice hockey....
Great fun to play aswell.

ooh ice hockey. I used to play for a ladies team. we were 2nd in Scotland (there were only 2 teams lol) we trained at crystals arena in glenrothes and were called the crystal belles - not very ice hockeyish lol

Kircaldy.... ah yes always a "warm" welcome for the Paisley fans. :D
You never ever got a dull game with the Flyers and Pirates.
And some of the players they attracted and brought through juniors were great.
Doug "the thug" Marsden for example heheh, just goes to prove even those with questionable ethics can get a work permit!

I got a lassie.
I queried it with her and said it stated £45. She just brushed me off and said its from £45 and that it was still high season (ha ha) and a Saturday night. To be honest, at that I just laughed and said forget it. It was clear from her tone that she was not interested. Suspect you may be correct Northy.
The lady at the Ravenscraig said it was a Saturday and they usually only accept two nights at the weekend but after a moment or two of indecision said it would be OK to book just the one night. Curiously their price is at the low season rate so the season must change the further north into the centre of the village you get.

Quick suggestion- we could book 2 6-bunks and then, if we don't fill them, it'll only be an extra couple of quid each from everyone anyway- £15 each, 12 bunks, £180... So say only 9 people turn up it's still just £20 each. Good idea? Bad idea?

I think a sensible thing to do would be to organise a list of contact numbers - a mobile and home no. with full names, as well as site name. There was nothing like standing on the side of the road telling the ambulance driver that Grant's full name was Grant Blueflame... :D

Deffo a good idea to have everybody's home(emergency)/mobile contact details. If everybody is OK with that then I will volunteer to compile it. PM me your details (Full Name / Handle / Home (or other emergency contact details) / Mobile No and I will compile a list to be shared out at Kinross.

BlueFlame, you have PM.
I'm waiting on the Bunkhouse to call me for c/card details for the full amount, we have two rooms, 12 peeps confirmed. Also, they'd prefer if we (or some of us) could be there for 6pm-ish if possible. I'll do my best.
If i pm you all with my bank a/c details can you drop in £15 each - pretty pleeeze.
Either online, bank transfer at your branch or cash on the day if you're really stuck.

Will do, send us the PM. Thanks v much for arranging.
It's just that i'd rather not be flashing a large wad at the bar
Might get you some attention from the ladies though (and no I'm not talking about a large wad of money... ) :D
Sending you a PM...
