I'll add some more pics soon but first a quick quizz.

1 point for guessing the bike?
3 points for the country?
10 points for why I got pulled?

What was the story with the plate then?

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pics, from what I have heard there are some cracking roads out there.

The pics above are all along the coastal road North of Zadar. Beautifully smooth ashphalt twisting in and out of rocky bays along stunning coastline.

Pic above - looking down Markaska Riviera (Map Here (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=croatia&ie=UTF8&ll=43.262706,17.108459&spn=0.229013,0.462799&t=h&z=11&om=1)). Beautiful scenery - some nice roads. Busy between Split to Markaska but opens up to nice roads through to Dubrovnik - pics below.

Looking down to the city.

The bike was a hire bike I collected in Zadar - the plate was missing from a prior crash aparrantly. I missed it doing my POWER checks but it made for some interesting riding especially through the border checks on the way to Dubrovnik (you need to pass through 10km of Bosnia). Recommended if you want a cheap bike weekend away, most excellent scenery and roads.

So did you not get in serious trouble for not having a number plate?

In a country where the police hardly bat an eyelid at riders with no helmets I wasnt overly worried... £30 fine which the bike shop agreed to picked up as they hadnt put it back on the bike. It could've got expensive as I havent known a country with more cops and radars - they were the only guys that pulled me from a set of traffic lights.

It is a great place to visit - another one of those places where you cant really write it all down as its sensory overload.

I went with Wizzair to Split as I had some meetings. Not sure from your way but for cheapest flights Ryanair fly to Zadar which is where the bike shop is. There has been a lot of 1p flights or mostly £9.99ers (less than £60 return incl tax) as the destination isnt as popular as the airports in the Sth which are normally closer to £200.

Motoshop in Zadar did the bike - R6 was £70 per day. R1 a little more. Caponard a little less. Ph +385 (0)23 326 419. Ask for Simon or PM me and I will give you his mobile number.
