It got crashed up on the Dales, then ridden 220 miles to Uni, ridden about for a year on and off, had numerous leaking gaskets after thrashing it too much, and was left at New College where it may have ended up in a skip.

Honda CLR City Fly125 - not a bad first bike. It got nicked though!!!
Best 'learner' bike I had was a Hyosuong GT Comet 125 - all 125's should be like that!

first bike i rode was a yz50, first bike i owned was an rm80, first road legal was a 97 el250-f2 (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=97155).
1951 BSA C11 250cc
I rode it for nine months, then gave it to a gypsy collecting scrap with a horse and cart.
Well my 1st bike was a Kawasaki KC100 when I was 14, so that doesn't really count.
My next two wheeler was a Peugeot Speedfight 50 in 2000, but that doesn't really count as a bike either.
So my first road going bike was my SVS in November 2006.

WHAT?!? 5 gears, clutch, why is an MT5 any less of a bike than a FS1E or an AR50? Just 'cos its styled like a crosser  and it was great at going round roundabouts...............
......on it's side.
I lived in Poulton le Fylde and my GF lived in Lytham St Annes. Just about every Friday and Saturday night it carried us both about 7 miles down the beach from Blackpool's north shore down to St Annes. Side stand stood up to quite a few sha*s on that beach too . Beach patrol guy in his Land Rover hated us. Special copper tried to book me for carrying a pillion on L plates (whilst not on the public road, hmm), inspector in the station in Poulton when I produced my license ripped it up and gave me bollocking for riding on the beach. Not a bad wee bike for some light greenlaning either so long as you kept he momentum up.
First bikes are not about the bike (or moped), as Lissa's post shows, they're about the memories. If I can get my bloody scanner to work I'll post some proper photo's, the one I've posted is identical to my bike, less the scrapes and dents, but is just one off google.
