While the idea of petitions is good, it never does anything. Millions signed a petition for something a while back, government still done it anyway.

Bike using bus lanes was also declined..... Why, becuase bikers will hold up buses... So when did a cyclist become a rocket off the line and beat a motorcycle???? Could you send this reply in disgust to the decision? Nope.

The idea of these petitions are good, but they never pay any attention to them and its just a way they can say "we gauged public opinion and offered them a say" and a get out clause....

What he said. Letters to your MP is what has a real effect on policy. 1 letter to a MP means more than 100,000 signatures on a politician, IMO. :)

I'd have thought they'd take more notice of 100,000 scribbles all over thier naked butt than reading a letter!

Is anyone else thinking of heading down to the MCN/RiderConnect protest on the 20th of October?

Its against road pricing for bikes and the recent power limit "information" from a bunch of militant cyclists - more info (http://www.rider-connect.com/index.php?q=node/1204)
