View Full Version : Tuesday 2nd Oct - Pub meet

Thought I would kick of a thread for the next meet. Technically I think we should be at the Fleur De Lis (sp) but as this isnt close to anyone so can I suggest that we meet at the Shire Horse this time (as we get the best attendance at this pub).

I will then bring a print of the members map and the pubs that people have told me about so that we can all sit down and work out where we want the next meets to take place and whether we want to rotate or not.

Does that sound good to everyone?

Sounds fine to me, but what is wrong with the fleur-de-lis? I have never been there, but it seems closer to me and Phil, and you can get food there. I think I would like to go earlier and eat food, so that it is still light for biking.

TBH I didn't think much of the Fleur De Lis.. The locals didn't seem too impressed with us either.. Reckon we find a new pub to replace it. Shire Horse sounds good to me.

I should be ok for tuesday. :-)

Is that the one in Stokenchurch?

If so the chavski's were giving off a you 'eyeballing my hoochie' vibe.

Dream on Kwak boy[-X.

As for the Fleur De Lis. I agree with Nick_1871. It wasn't the nicest of pubs and the yocals weren't too impressed with us - the food was cheap though.

My overall plan was for this meet to be in a central location to get a large turn out. That way we can sit down as a group and figure out once and for all what pubs we will be visiting and when. If we all decide that we like the Fleur De Lis then we can keep it on the list and go next time.

Sound okay?

Personally I think that the person organising the maps, pub meets and generally helping run the TV section could do with an official title. That person might also promise to always create a poll when organising a meet:cool:.

I wouldn't have commuted on the CBR , would have got it dirty and put too many miles on!, I don't care about the Kwak, it's got starship mileage anyway. Won't be riding everyday, only if it's not wet or ice/snow..

Go then Phil, spill it! Why dont you need a hack anymore? You still keeping the SV? Or are you selling both to fund a ninja, so you can wrangle back a share of the poontang from Nick2?

So many questions.......

28-09-07, 08:47 PM
Ah well, I no longer have a job so no more 50 mile commute. I've been eyeing up a VFR400 in Abingdon that may well be amore amusing "winter hack" if it goes for the right price. also lookin at a ZZR600 (well it ia ninja in the states)for a winter motorway tool. i got pushbike for round town so its just gonna be weekend trips that i need the hack for. GPZ hasnt got enough wind protection for real long distances (yes i am a pusy but i dont like having my head pulled off for hours on end - i like mytouring screens). want something with a bigger fairing

ps, i have no money so will proably end up sticking with the GPZ. Ah well.

It's not a bike meet. A bike meet is generally an organised riding event or bike orientated event. The SVTV meet is a social meet. Doesn't matter how you get there. So stop being lame.

I was going to be there but issues at home dictated I needed to go home instead. I hang my head in shame and will do better next time.
