Suzuki have put on preview pics of the K8 Gixxer (sorry if its been posted already) - Personal I like it and would be distinctive between its bigger brother for a while. Front and rear body changes look cool, not sure about the exhaust yet as I like the K6/K7 'GP' version, would have to see one to decide.
I will have my SV for a couple of years before getting a Gixxer though, perhaps might be further updated by then.
What do you guys think?

The zorst is a bit of a wreck, and it does look a bit R6-ish, but I do like it!
Not brave enough though.
Great apart from the exhaust.
Why has it grown? Both the 08 and 06/07 bikes meet the Euro 3 rules don't they? I mean it is not like they had to meet higher standards?
Has market research told them that consumers prefer a larger exhaust as it gives the impression of more power?
Or maybe they have found that they can get more power whilst still meeting noise and emissions regs by using that exhaust? Either way I think now they are that size the old cylinder style exhaust looks better.
Don't like the colours, the exhaust is hideous, and as for that back end..........it looks like the martians out of War of the Worlds..............and I don't mean that as a compliment!
And while I'm at it, the front looks like a Sprint ST!
Can you tell I'm not impressed!:D
Some will like it though, just because it's a GSXR, I'm sure.

T'was what I was thinking too. Apparently the bikes only received minor technical improvements as well, so I can't see why that monstrosity is needed.

Not me, it looks f*cking orrible, I dont get what the jap manufacturers are up to do they really think I'm going to shell out cash to change my curent GSXR for that.
Yuk no chance.

Fashion and to keep a visual resemblance with its bigger brother perhaps.

Nah, the 1000 zorst isn't anywhere near that bad. Seems to be in competition with the Fireblade for ugliest new bike award.

hmmm, looks ok from the front, really don't like it from the side though! i'll reserve final judgement til I've seen it in the flesh, but personally i think mine is waaaayyyy better!

Ah been waiting for some more shots of this - only seen the one picture that was going around for ages, plus some side shots...
I am undecided on the front, I don't know if it looks right having 3 "ends" or "tips" to the light (left/right/middle). Also it doesn't look quite wide (aggressive?) enough. I'll reserve judgement until I see it in person though!
Rear I don't think looks too different actually, it's just red instead of clear (I prefer the clear). I think it might just be that picture that's making it look odd.
I had heard the exhaust was bigger because some people complained about it being too loud on the K6/K7 - I guess this should pass all track day limits now. The fitment is rumoured to be the same as K6/K7, so you could probably pick up a cheap stubby and fit it.
Anyway this is the last bike I was waiting for, for my Feb/March test rides :D plenty of time to go browse and see the bikes in person!
I quite like it, although I prefer the current design of the K6/7. It's still clearly a gixer. The change to the front will have the jury out with the side by side triple lights just as the same jury was divided with the move to the stacked headlight design.

i think its nice except for the nose, looks like its got some extensions sticking outa it.
and the exhaust is possibly the worst piece of design work ever. dont they do a coustemer servey before they try to sell suming!!!?!? crazy!!
other than that is cool ;)

i can't get on with new bike design, they all look the same with fugly exhausts, give me a first gen blade, 1998 cbr6, ducati 748 or 916, or an sv.
Where's the black colour scheme gone? The silver one is orrible. :smt089
positive point - I like the headlights
Yer Law, I like the headlights actually, the exhaust looks awful but I guess they are making it similar to the thou which the bodywork closely resembles

Lol, no, but as we don't have a Gixer haven't bothered to join. We've known Tink for several years though. Nice guy.

The silver one actually looks quite good here, though i notice they kept the camera away from the can most of the time!!

Yeah the white/silver one looks ok there.
I almost threw up when they had a close up of the exhaust 1½ mins in!

Stunning, I want one!
Even if the zaust is a bit dodgey, Only costs about £250 to change that and i'm sure you could haggle the dealer to throw one in!

Love the front end headlight-airscoop combo

I think it looks good. There's not a great deal they can do with modern sports bikes nowadays, so I suppose distinction is ahead of beauty, but I actually like some of these details. I don't mind the exhaust either, certainly wouldn't put me off buying one - who cares what the exhaust looks like once they're sat on the bike anyway?
I quite like the idea of the power modes on it.......rocker switch allowing to switch between 3 settings, the last being a reduced power seiing that aparantly will make it as easy to handle as the sv in wet or tricky conditions........Only what I read in MCN:D

I dont, this is what my right wrist is for. Its just more electronic gadgets and gimickery and I dont want it.
I suspect I'm in the minority though as some people will think this is latest thing and its important to have the latest road bike etc etc.

Yeah, it's newer so it MUST be better!
That was proved not to be right when they changed the curvy to the pointy!:D

Could not agree more, I'll stick with my out of date bike (I also prefer the look of it to the K7). Too much electrical stuff being added is more to go wrong as well.
My other bike is so last year as well (last years colour was discontinued) but I'm appy :D
i quite like it in the silver and i dont know what the fuss is about wit hthe exhaust i think it looks very nice. I dont as a rule like GSXR's. For me its always been their front end. they just dont look aggresive, but this 2008 obe does. best looking Gixer erver IMO.
i have always wanted a ZX6-R but i think i would chose this over the ZX.
