Shocking Plowsie! :)

I do have one which i never use, honestly you are better off with a 360(which i do use), but its at my brothers place. Way too much hassle to try and get it back!

Get an Xbox.

Was playing with a nice little function last night that I was not aware that Sony had provided for the PS3. The media server function.

If you have Media Player 11 on your PC the PS3 can play your music / photo / video collection stored on your PC by streaming through the wireless connection.

Brilliant !! Visitors will now be able to be bored silly going through our Photo albums on the big screen now.

And my entire music collection is now available on tap in the living room.

I have both as I'm very lucky. Have to say I think the PS3 has more miles in it than the box does, life cycle wise I mean (not reliability, although that could also be true). PS3 is still very new and we're still waiting for the killer app (roll on mgs4). Halo 3 is about as good as it gets on the box technically speaking, and I think the box will slow down now. I'd love to be proved wrong but Bungie have cleary stated no more Halo games, so there goes the box's best franchise. Also if you need any proof that the PS3, if developed correctly, is way more powerful than the ageing box then look at Gran Turismo 5. 16 cars, 60fps all in 1080p!!! Staggering, the box has no hope of doing that ever. Don't come back with any examples of multi format games where the xbox version is better either, the ps3 is very hard to port to and dev teams are too lazy to do it right for cash hungry multi platform releases.

Anyway, I would say yes a PS3 is the right choice now. The future is very bright. But no, you can't have mine! Sorry.

lol!

Yes I agree, thing is I think even the mighty Microsoft came a bit early with the 360....oooer!

Things are not quite next gen yet and still have a way to go to match high end PC's. Resolution being the biggest gap between PC games and console games. I would love to see Halo 3 at a decent res (1650x1050) with at least 4 x AA running. Now that would be awesome.

i think the 360 has reversed the roles on Sony regarding hte PS3,

the xbox has less flop per second but has a more powerfull graphics and dual processors with a higher speed than the PS3

IMO sony have priced themselves out for a good year or so, at getting on for double the 360's price.

i was playing the 360 on my HD TV and its awsome, i dont know if buying a proper HDMI lead rather than using the composite one will make much differance again?

the Xbox can do all the PS3 can regarding media player, in fact you can use it to access pretty much al the files on your PC, its a games console and a media center in one.

Oh and Xbox live rules, and i dont think Sony will be able to compete with their version. Live is too well established. MS got a trick in there launching it on the original xbox while it was competing with the PS2.

Sony waited too long to release it. MS might well ofer a new 360 in a couple of years that even at launch wont be much more than the PS3 will be.

360 has got this competition done.

LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY 360!

LOL

Don't get me wrong...I like the 360 more than the idea of a ps3...but using the words "long" and "live" when describing the 360 i really quite laughable.:DMost unreliable piece of crap ever...people should take a stand and not buy it and teach MS a lesson for building such a piece of s***! Nice when it works though.

wasn't that on the first models?

Lets not forget where that extra cash goes when you buy a PS3. It's the cost of the blu-ray drive. And guess what, it looks like blu-ray is going to be the next Betamax....

"Viacom's Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Animation SKG announced they are abandoning Sony's HD Blu-ray format and will instead only release high definition DVDs in the competing HD DVD format."

PS3 vs 360… 360 vs PS3… is a very touchy subject as everyone is aware I’m sure. Both are very powerful and significant upgrades over their previous generation counterparts such as the PS2 or Xbox and as always it’s about the games. What it TRULY boils down to for the vast majority of people out there is that they don’t care about the specs of a console. All most people care about is “How good are the games available for it?”

That's what I think you need to consider when choosing. Do you have enough faith in the blu-ray format to be willing to pay £100+ for it - and which platforms caters for the type of gaming you prefer.

I have 2 networked 360's.

wasn't that on the first models?

its still apparent on all models, its about ventilation.. when the 360s Motherboard gets far to hot it warps and there are little connectors that break when this happens.. and bobs your uncle.. 3 red lights, if you were ever silly enough to want to make it do this then just wrap a towel around it... :cyclopsani:
