So says my ex now she's taken her newly acquired silver K3 (not my one, she bought one identical) round Mallory.

Some great Piccys on there mate!
I quite liked the exchange of parking notices regarding the parking dispute lol.

Great selection of bikes to, especially the old RD DX's!
Was in the process of re-building an old 125DX myself many years ago.
Spent nearly 2 grand on it (on a y.t.s wage), re-built the engine (had crank rebuilt/re-balanced), every bearing replaced, powdercoated all the bits 'n bobs, had the forks re-chromed, new micron exhausts, new paint job and EVERYTHING.
In the end I lost heart/sick of the sight of it and binned it, wasn't far off finnished either...

They're getting to be worth some money now. My eldest daughter, Caz, restored the red 125DX in the photos back to absolutely original condition. She had it valued at about 1800 quid, just before some numpty woman knocked her off it in Warwick. She bought a seized but otherwise decent RD200 to use as a donor bike, and ended up restoring that one as well.

I gave up on the RD collection about 5 years ago, when I sold 2 RD400Fs that were mid restoration, broke an RD250D for spares and sold my daily rider RD350LC F2. At the same time I shifted my entire stock of new and used RD spares, enough to fill a SWB Transit van (that's what the buyer turned up in and he didn't think it was all going to fit). I bought another ZZR1100, insured it, bought new made to measure leathers, paid all my bills and debts and went on holiday with the proceeds. Never regretted selling them either.

Yeah I read your daughter restored one of the DX's, impressive!

When I bought mine it was a non-runner, all the problem turned out to be was the big rubber seal that seperates both halfs of the crank/crank case.

Yeah i'm surprised at how much they're going for now!
Don't think I would of got those values for my one though as it was far from a restoration, more of a project/fighter bike, not many standard bits left on it etc.

I only payed £100 for it and mainly bought it as a first bike and to learn how everything works etc as I was learning to be a mechanic at the time, albeit a HGV mechanic lol.

The money I lost in binning it didn't really bother me, it was just the man-hours put into it..

Anyway, at risk of de-railing your thread i'll be quiet now lol.

P.s My SV is a silver 2003 one too! Your Ex looks a natural on the track

Silver ones rock. Tori is going racing next year, but she's still unsure what she wants to be riding. Many have suggested a TZR250 in the Yamaha Past Masters series. I think he'd be well suited to that as I don't think she's ready for Mini-Twins just yet - maybe in 2009 if we can persuade Rob #70 to help build a race-winner for her.

As she says "I've paid for all of that tyre, and I'm going to use all of that tyre"
