Here it is - finally got some pictures! It's done 37k and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, I got the Muc-off out and I discovered the chain is one of those gold ones

Only pasted links as the pics are quite big and I couldn't be bothered to resize...

Nice 600 mate, is that the OE seat or a Corbin one?

It's just a recovered original actually, according to the guy I bought it from! Seems nice enough...

Nice bike,and practical too.
Was it a good price? If so you wont regret buying that.

Yeah was a good price (I think) - £2100. It's got 37k though, but from browsing Ebay and bike trader people still ask over £3k for these (you get some under £3k but not many & not as low as this).

It's a bit tatty but seems solid enough - these pics are after cleaning it up so the dirt contributed to the tatty look when I bought it.

Seems like a good commuter anyway :D

Nice one, looks great in that colour scheme.

Did you get the regulator/rectifier problem sorted?

muffles

Cheers, it's not mint at all though! A few little scratches and things all around the place, you can see the stickers on the fairings (front and rear) where the previous owner's had it over...

Greg - yup got it sorted, got a new one, haven't had any issues so far. I'm not 100% sure but I think I've done enough to cause it to die using the old reg/rec.

Only annoying thing is, I got a new battery out of it too (free from the seller), he said it was the correct size & that the previous one was the incorrect size (I think he said that because he was given a different size battery when he got it, rather than because he actually knew). However now the battery doesn't fit under the plastic cover! It won't clip down over the battery so it's loose. I'm sure he's got the wrong size battery but it's supposed to be a cheap commuter and I don't want to shell out for another battery lol...

Sure, if I ever meet you, you can have a go

I warn you now though, it's really not that exciting (not like the GSX-R was!)

It's a small world, I was talking to a nice man at essential rubber a little while back while getting a puncture repaired and he showed me a CBR600F he was getting an MOT for before selling it....

Buy it from a bloke called Sean?

That be the guy ;) you know him?

This is where Jambo reveals that the chap concerned said "hopefully it'll scrape through the MOT without them spotting problem X and then I'll be able to sell it on to some poor unsuspecting soul."

;)

Only kidding, looks grand.

Lol, Ceri you might not be far off given the reg/rec problem...

Nah my mate knows Sean and he's done good, it's a decent bike. I've now moved into my new place (with garage!) and I've got a spare weekend coming up...time to clean it properly :D (I quite fancy having a go with this autosol stuff and seeing if it works - never used it before!)

And I wish I'd taken photos before I cleaned it! It was black with dirt/grease, basically...

Well I had a go with the Autosol today...yesterday stripped off the fairings ready for a little dig around and clean up...also started cleaning up the engine and bits, don't know how much more I can be bothered to do, given this is a commuter...but it's a start :D
