I wiped out on my bike! I was wearing all the gear, so I'm quite well. My hip is a bit bruised, and my hand was a bit sore, but I'm all well.

As for the bike... The gear shifter broke off, the windshield broke, and the left rear view mirror broke off. There are some scratches on the side of the fairing. Luckily, that's the extent of the damage.

I was going under the speed limit (45 kilometers an hour), but I was going downhill, and it was raining. I noticed a turn in the road a tad bit too late. My back tire slid out from behind me, and I fell and tumbled along the pavement.

Sometimes I don't wear my riding gloves. Note to everybody: Wear them!!! I'd be in the hospital if I didn't have them on. I hope to be back on my baby and riding in a few days :)

Unlucky mate. Get well soon. Is it an insurance claim or just patch the bike up and carry on?

Good thing you were wearing your gear, we are sadly bound to get a lot more of these accidents as the weather gets colder and wetter. GWS!

Thanks guys.

I'm not touching insurance. The repairs can't be all too bad, and if I go to my insurance, they'll up my monthly by some unhuman number.

GWS matey. As for there being more accidents as the weather gets colder and wetter, the majority of bike accidents happen in summer (coz more of us are out, and people take less care)
