View Full Version : Bye bye sv :(
Phone call from the assesors today...
sv is a write off, Cat D.
i have got the option of buying her back, dont know how much for at the mo, i dont want her but if anyone thinks they would like a project then let me know.
Now begins the arguement of how much shes worth etc.
and ive gotto consider what to replace her with!
Find out what the buy back is, CAT D isn't serious. All my bikes have been CAT D, before and after in many cases...
Going to find out and then offer her up on here & mcn ninjas for what they are asking for her, i dont want her but wouldnt mind someone taking her on as a spares/repairs.

Hi paws. How much do you think you will be looking for or dont you know yet? Oh and is it a pointy. If it is I may be interested.
I've not yet passed my test, but i'm 24 so DAC will get me on a 650. I'd be very interested in possible purchase, depending on the damage caused; mostly so I can learn how to fix these things!
Cat D on a bike this value is 99.99999% guaranteed cosmetic, though, so you should get a fair wack for it whatever happens. It might have to become a naked if it wasn't already, though!
EDIT: Ouch, just looked at your thread about the crash! Like I suspected, it's all the plastic that's gone... The nose is £300 a pop as I understand it, and the can and down pipe from front cylinder will need replacing too :(
Still, the tire didn't pop so the rear wheel and swingarm / shock are ok!

Mine was CAT D, got £3,000 for it minus £600 salvage and cost a little over £1,000 to put back to new.
Still, the tire didn't pop so the rear wheel and swingarm / shock are ok!
The fact the tyre hasn't popped means nothing. Believe me, the swingarm can be bent, the wheel can have a huge dent and be buckled, the shock could be bent double and the tyre could still be holding pressure.
