Have you checked the cut out switch on the left handlebar? It is possible to nudge that when you hit a bump and wonder why it has died.

kill switch is on the right handlebar no?

might have bounced the sidestand off the sidestand cutout switch and caused the engine to cut out, as if you'd tried to put the stand down with the bike in gear...

I doubt very much it would be the clutch switch as this is only for when starting the bike.

It is very possible the side stand switch is the culprit. If its loose on the pivot bolt or it has landed on its side the stand will move about and cut the engine while going over bumps. The switch can be by passed either by bridging the wires or as I have done, cable tie the switch up.

I have been thought about this but if it was in nutral it would still start wouldnt it:confused: i have had it running tonight and disconnected the side stand wire and it still ran ok

No mate just the engine died it still turned over but it sounded like there was no spark. I have had it in bits tonight pulling and proding at wires bouncing it up and down and it is still running and wouldnt cut out so dont no whats up with it.My work is 20 miles away so i cant risk using it until i find out what the problem is.

if it tried to tick over then imho it won't be a kill switch/sidestand wire falsely kicking in.

Was it really cold? Could you have stalled the bike due to low idling speed then if the battery was a bit flat could that have stopped giving enough charge to start the bike? Had a car do that once...by the time the AA came out to charge it, it had been sitting long enough to recoup some small measure of charge to start...

It was warn enough and the battery is very good as it kept turning over for ages it happened earlyer in the morning and i had dune at least 18 miles but it kicked in again before it came to a stand still

Grrrr suzuki electrics.

Mine was this bad... so disposed of the loom and built a new one with copper wire instead of cheese.

Could be anywhere from the sidestand switch upwards, I'd start by getting a can of "clean and protect" stuff and going over all the wiring connectors you can find, just unplug and if they're not cheesy then give them a squirt and put back together.
