What chain do i need for my 2000/y sv650n? 'X' ring or 'O' ring????
What's the difference between the 2???

Good morning.
'X' Ring chains have an X profile sealing ring between the inner & outer sideplates, instead of an O section one. Allegedly they seal more effectively.
However a cheapo X ring will not last as long as a high grade O ring, for there are many other factors that govern a chains lifespan.
Buy the best you can afford, it's that simple. I have found through experience that Tsubaki chains take some beating (literally). I would go for their SG grade of chain (O ring) or if you prefer something a touch more snazzy their SGX premium chain (gold X ring). They're the same chain in terms of tensile strength etc, except for the colour & the X rings.
You can get them, & a choice of sprockets from B&C Express on; 01522 791369. B&C's recommended chain for the SV is the APX chain, pay the extra, & go for one of the above grades. It's well worth the difference.
Cheers.

No matter what chain you get you need to lube it regularly. No matter what lube you use the trick is to never allow it to run dry.A Scottoiler is best if you want long chain life.

What are the DID ones like in terms of quality?
Also how much to pay, I know wemoto offer the DID kit for £94.

Good morning.
DID chains are in my opinion somewhat overpriced, as they're the market leader, & most often found fitted as original equipment.
As with other chain manufacturers they do several different grades, & often their lower grade chain is equal in price to a higher grade chain from another manufacturer. I would suspect that a chain & sprocket kit for £94 would contain a low grade chain.
There was also an issue concerning a large batch of defective DID chains some years ago. Their attitude frankly stank, & I stopped supplying them on principle.
As I have said I Tsubaki take some beating, on both price & quality.
Cheers
DONT FORGET, to change the sprockets at the same time, as a new chain on old sprockets will not last
What happed to the good old British Renolds chain :?:
Years ago it was the chain you got for your motor/push bike.
