View Full Version : Christmas Meal, South Coast.
Well it appears that a few people from the South Coast would be interested in a Christmas meal. So lets see what you would like...
Also please keep this thread related else I will get the mod stick out... oooh the power.

Whereabouts on the South Coast are you thinking? Down in the SW, or more towards Portsmouth / Soton?
Well I'm rather biased as I live in Portsmouth, though nothing is set in stone and it depends on numbers. I want to get a idea of what people fancy first then we can talk about locations. I've always liked the Waterwitch in Odiham (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Waterwitch+in+Odiham&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF-8&client=firefox-a&ll=51.258168,-0.933323&spn=0.009199,0.018518&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A&om=1), lovely place and nice people running it.

ME TOO........ have fun though
Well it might not be that, though there are many other options.
Waterwitch in Odiham.
thats almost london, if you are wanting to please everyone i would think bristol/bath.
the taffia are having a get together in cardiff (all are welcome)
hopfully the mofos will do somthing as well,
so maybe you should plan it to suit the peeps down south?
Does the title 'South Coast' not explain that... Plus the Waterwitch is just a idea... at the moment I'm just asking what people want. It could end up in Arundel, Brighton, Bournemouth, Gospot yet, just don't care at the moment.
I even know a rather nice Japanese (Old Thorns) place in Liss way...

I like the idea of doing something that doesnt involve the bikes or rideout so that we can have a drinky or two, So I voted accordingly.

Aye - wasnt sure how far West the "South Coast" bit applied to...

Likewise - at this time of year, good scoff and a few beers takes priority over a rideout for me :D
Do feel free to offer some locations, then once I get some ideas I can see if we can get something sorted. After all it needs to be somewhere everyone can get to and get back after a few beers.
Kilmington services.:D
Sorry - I'll be off now...

That used to be my local a few years back
nice pub - carry on i'll go back to the GM
I did stop at another Pub on Saturday.. Old Barn Farm at Three Legged Cross. Me and Jax have eaten there before and its very nice. I think 2 course mean was 8.95 and 3 course was 11.95, with a 5 quid deposit per head. Its about 45 minute journey for us.
Any other ideas?

Why don't we stick with some thing closer to home, Portsmouth, Fareham, or Southampton way, That way taxis or lifts are an option for getting back once you've had a few shandies
Not a problem with me... just not sure where though...
The Roebuck Inn (http://www.theroebuckinn-hampshire.co.uk/) is rather nice, looking at about 20 quid a head though.
Also looked at the 'Fareham (http://www.thefareham.co.uk/gallery.asp?opt=category&id=20050908132610)'.... seems a nice simple menu at 10 quid each, might need to scope it out a bit first.

I think the speedy one is right, keep it localish to you guys then it makes it simpler getting there and back again.
I'm not particularly fussed where we go, but my Christmas meal criteria are
1. Stuff face with Turkey.
2. Get Drunk.
Anymore than that is a bonus IMHO>
Well I'll keep my eyes open... Though Fizz as your in Somerset do you have a preference to location as if its in Portsmouth area you have the furthest to travel.

We will stay at my parents in Portsmouth when ever it is so we won't have to travel.

Prefer a venue closer to Soton as I'm t'other side of Soton Water.

To make it fair for all have it half way between us and the Bristol lot, say Salisbury.
