View Full Version : Did I pull?
So, I went out with some friends last night.
There was about 12 of us at my table. One of the waiters came up to me with a bottle of champagne and says " compliments from the gentleman over there" (or something along those lines). So I looked over in the direction she was pointing and waved and smiled at the very nice gentleman. And that was that.
See, this sort of thing's never happened to me, but then again, I don't 'go out' much . I was well flattered, albeit a teeny weeny bit embarrassed. Question is should I have actually gone up to the gentleman and thanked him? But then again, I guess he could have brought the champagne to our table himself.:D
Irony is, I don't drink. Alcohol that is.
A can of coke would have sufficed.:p
Glad you liked my token gesture, had i known you'd preffered coke i'd saved myself fortune ;)
Did you get his number???
you pulled yes, might have been nice of you to go and thank him though.
I think you may well have done :lol:
He was probably disapointed when you didnt go for a chat with him mind.
I dont like the tactic myself, infact I'm rubbish with any tactics and tend to sit and wait for women to come to me. Probably why I have been with the same lady for 7 years (or it could be love I suppose)
Nope, didn't get his number and I do feel a wee bit bad for not thanking him.
This whole pulling (nasty phrase) and dating malarky is a nightmare. Too old for it.

Separating the wheat from the chaff is tedious!!
And I'm terribly shy, so I would NEVER make the first move.

IMHO you didn't pull as you didn't even talk to the guy....sorry.
The real question was it a nice bottle of champagne?
Shame on you for not talking to him(if he was ugly then fair play). :)

Mel: depends whether it was a decent bottle or the cheapest one on the wine list ;-)
If it was me that had bought an anonymous lady a bottle of champers, I would have liked her (or even a friend) to have come over and say something "even if it was 'get lost you sicko' ..." LOL (no seriously, I would have liked a "thanks ..." and either "no thanks" or "here's my number").
Dirk: Everyone either missed that, or chose to ignore it (you sick depraved man) ... personally, it was my kinda humour, I just never spotted this thread until too late ;-) LMAO

You did not pull though! he basically wanted to chat to you, and you are supposed to go over there and say thanks then chat. You only pull if you kiss them or go home together or something.

"Did I Pull?"
I dunno.Did you drink the whole bottle and now cant remember?:p
And the earlier innuendo() was noticed and duly ignored.
Was it proper champagne or just sparkling wine?
These things are important, I mean if some poor besotted sod just spunked a whole week's wages from the carwash on bottle of screwtop plonk you shouldn't bother.
after you waved and smiled you should have got up and did that fast shaking of ass thing with your hands on your knees then you would have pulled:thumbsup:
EDIT: oh sorry your shy arnt you lol

I figured it was a deliberate line that I couldn't resist responding to.
In a bit of a grump in the office today & it brought a smile to my face*
*and no, I'm not in a grump because some lady cost me £45 on a bottle of cava!

It was the best on the list.
I did consider getting one of my friends to go and thank him, but I thought that was childish. Reminds me of high school...... " my friend likes you" blah blah, but I guess it was childish of me to not thank the very generous gentleman.
I hang my head in shame.

The real question is was he fit?
If not then you've lost nothing but if he was then maybe you missed out on a generous, sweet man (or maybe a sad old fool)!

Nice gesture but isn't it a bit full on when he doesn't even know you??? Like recieveing huge buqets of flowers to your work address when you've only seen the guy once!!
Leaves the question - do they want to be friends or something more???

Never turn down the offer of champagne!! just make idol chit chat (much like this forum!) and be gracious but if you are not interested, just tell them you already have a chap!!! Works for me!!!! haha (not really phil!!)
