so today i thought i would sort out my car insurance, so i go to a certain broker as i've herd good things about them. so i go to get the quote, now i was only driving my old car for 6ish months and then i sold it, with that and a 10% discount with my 2 years no claims for my bike they quoted me £2300 TPFT, WHAT!!!, he advised me to sell the car and get a 1.2 or less petrol, "whats the point thats still going to be quicker than the 106" i said, then left in a huff

not happy :smt076

EDIT: my car is peugeot 106 1.5D, step down from my old Corsa

I thought you couldn't use bike related NCB on a car policy and vice-versa?

Still, helluva steep. :smt104

I'd say £400 fully comp for my scooby impreza turbo is much better than £2300 for your pug 1.5d ;)

PS - do you go over Northam Bridge to/from work?

Wideboy
05-10-07, 07:04 PM
no but i go over it once a week after work as i stop off to see a mate at work in town, i have seen a loud curvy along there quite a few times and a black standard curvy

i've managed to get my quote down to 1770 which is still insane

and give me a go in your scooby, i will go up the industrial est and show them boy racers a thing or two;)

WTF, how much?? have yo crashed every other day since you had a licence??

do they realise how slow that car is and how un attractive it is to thieves.

In theory i agree with pricing youngsters out of having high performance cars (but this aint one) as there are far to many dIIk heads in fast cars around that think they are all that. Oh and if us bikers have to be restricted if we are under 21 so should car drivers.

do they realise how slow that car is and how un attractive it is to thieves.

thats what i said to him when he told me to get a 1.2 or less which is what i got rid of, i just said even if i get a 1000cc it will still be quicker and nice to knick than my 106, i only bought the bluddy thing as a winter hack as i thought it would be cheap to run and i wouldn't have to use the bike

insurance is the biggest con going, going to start a anti insurance brigade group type thingy

apparently my quotes are so high because i didn't have my old car long enough to build up some no claims so insurance companies still consider me a 1st time driver:smt013
