Less then 2 miles from home and I get pulled, I was doing more then 30 in a 30, though I couldn't tell you how much as I was just running on normal mode.
I imagine my speed was anything from 30 to 35 to 40 mph, though he said the main reason he pulled me was that he suspected me of drinking as I was a tad wobbly. This might have been true as the last bend I took all wrong.

One of those things though, just asked all the usual questions. Thats not your real colour hair is it? Nope. Where you been? London. When did you leave? Sometime before 12. Where you going? Just going to post something in to my brothers house over there and then home. Whats your name and address? Blah.
While all this is going on his mates looking over the bike and checking the details, even stuck his hand on the tyre to see how warm it was.
Just got asked to slow down and sent on my way... So in all it could have been a million times worse.

So wake up call Mr Martin.

I was polite, didn't get funny in any way and answered all his questions.

Getting arsey is a sure fire way to get nicked. Think you played it right.

If you have the right attitude with the plods they are usually fair back. I think there are some good ones out there and those are given a bad name by people simply not liking plods. But even if you are arsey they will only give u a ticket for the offence u committed, be nice you may get off.

I remember getting pulled after picking my bros up from the airport, he had been on beer and therefore the car smelt a little and it was 3am.

I was tired looking and dozy (my normal look) when I got pulled, but the officer explained why he wanted me to do a breath test and was nice. I did it and 5 mins later was on my way. I always find it a nice experience getting pulled by a man in uniform. One day it will be a woman :(

You'll find that police officers apply what is known as the 'attitude test'. i.e. anyone who displays a bad attitude is more likely to be inconvenienced. You have the opportunity to demonstrate a good attitude in the first few seconds of contact and it can make a big difference to how you are dealt with.

There are plenty of scum bags out there for the police to deal with, they don't really want, or need, to tie themselves up with paperwork dealing with basically law abiding people. Hence your polite attitude got you a verbal warning and you were on your way again.

Bah, you've missed your opportunity. Correct response would have been to tearfully mumble something about a tragic genetic abnormality, recant through the sobs, a tale of childhood beset by bullying and victimisation on account of your blue bonce, express your distress that members of Her Majesty's Constabulary would resort to such hurtful remarks, then sue for the trauma caused :D

You could have been rich!
