basicly all you have is a purple SV with black lines on it.

Design 2, might be better, but whats it look like from the side?

freddifredfred
10-10-07, 01:53 PM
Not got as far as designing side or rear view. but main idea was black strip down center with the layered stuff at sides.

Maybe a dragon logo on tank

Will draw it all and add it, just doing my 16th edition revision ready for tonight.

Im open to suggestions though for other designs/textures. These 2 were my first ideas. Just want to custom my bike, but dont really like the idea of race colours as thats a bit common.

not realy

i would do it all one colour & slap some grafix on it, as it will be easy to repair if you were to drop it

freddifredfred
10-10-07, 02:10 PM
Good point on the dropping thing. Where can you get graffix from and can you get custom ones?

That one does. I quite like that. I reckon a similar design with gloss black and gloss dark green ivy would look quite nice (sort of like the limited Matrix edition 749R, but with some texture to the paintwork). As others have said, little chance of concealing any road rash on that sort of paintjob though (should you 'acquire' some after the paintjob). Make sure you fit crash bungs. :)

who's going to paint it for you?

a paint job like that is going to cost an absolute fortune and i would imagine would need somebody very skilled with the airbrush.

stick to solid colours imo

My advice would be do that first and don't do what I did: Get knocked off your previously mint bike on the way back from Halfords to pick up a socket needed to fit the crash bungs which were sitting in the garage ready to be fitted. I would have made the trip in my car, only that had been written off days earlier (nowt to do with me- it was parked at the time) and the hire car hadn't arrived to replace it yet. It did arrive whilst I was away at Halfords though, only for me to turn up at the house (where the people were waiting) on a noticeably freshly crashed bike, with a patch of blood growing on my jeans. You could practically smell the unease with which they left the hire car with me as I joked, "Don't worry, I'll try not to break this one, two vehicles a week is plenty for me."

I like fantasy race paint, this si where you paint a bike with a fictitious sponsor. My idea is Jaffa Cake Racing.

if you're a bit chunky, beefy Bovril sponsorship would fit quite nicely...
Or Holland Pies/Ginsters....

Ooo i can just imagine it lol

I had a little kid run out in front of me. didnt hit him but as he was so close i had to throw the bike on its side. All the damage was cosmetical as was only doing 25 - 30. I was on my way to pic up a bird, i arrived 10 mins late with the face of my bike hanging off lol. She looked uneasily at me and said. " er u want me to get bus?"

HAHAHA

The thing with race fairings IMO is simpler the better. With too much going on it looks crap.
Ive just had mine sprayed up. And to be honest its a shame I had to put a few sponsor decals on it. Its just a nice deep matt grey/silver with the odd green bits. And yellow number boards.

Got a mate who's addicted to them. I've been harassing him for ages to do his scabby Bandit in Jaffa Cake colours, dark blue metallic with smashing orangey bits! But no, he's a matt black person...... :(

So long as it's not all the same colour, that looks too boring for me. How's about a bit of Sheene replica paintwork? Looked good on Vermulen's bike.

Otherwise a bit of old school Pepsi colours?
