As I have crashed my previous precious SVS I bought myself a "new" SVN, bucause I realy realy like these bikes!!

One last glimp of the previous:

http://aeltermanwouter.googlepages.com/SVmetzwartewielen1.jpg
(the blue things around my exhaust were to protect it when I went for a trackday)

:cry::cry::cry:

But here is the new SVN:

The biggest damage one the S:

http://aeltermanwouter.googlepages.com/DSCI0042.JPG

http://aeltermanwouter.googlepages.com/DSCI0043.JPG

As you can see the frame is broken and bent. It will cost me too much to fix that and it will never be the same and this is why I bought an other SV. The second reason is that the N has 1/3 km's than the S! :)

At the moment the N is still stock exept for the Ixil-high-mount exhaust as you can see. But I am planning to replace everything from the S to the N:
- R1 front end with clipons
- ZX6RR shock
- tailrisers
- dyno-jet + K&N
- cam-mod
- tailtidy
- rearsets
- ...

Then it should look like a nice streetfighter me thinks

note: the date on the photo's isn't correct!

Was it just a case of changing the forks over?:smt004

Where did you get the can protectors? Or are they home made?

Yes, thought of that too, but that will be a lot more work I think...

Bet that IXIL is plain anti-social! :riding:

Not realy, my Akra was louder and sounded muchos betteros! Maybee that was because I needed to refill the can with new damping-stuff.

That front end looks cool:D

Thanks. It is nog "just" changing the forks over, it needs some modifications. More info here: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=98259

Home made.
Note: find yourself decent tube which can take a lot of heat because mine, espestially the one at the end, started to melt to the end of the trackday.
But that would be the lack of damping-wool in the can!

After a day remounting the cam's from the old engine to the new, it was time to put the SV on the dyno. This is wat came out of it:

http://i8.tinypic.com/5zodgch.jpg

80 bhp!! Me like!!

What is installed:
- Akrapovic full exhaust
- cammod (intakes from a pointy SV and old intakes to the exhaust side)
- dyno-jet stage 2
- modified air-intake

Things to do:
- Installing R1 front end

Things I want to do:
- Other clocks
- Other headlights
- Maybe a hugger

Greetings,

80bhp?! That's just awesome!
I really like the streetfighters, and with some mods, your's gonna be great!

What's dyna-jet stage 2?

I'm thinking about getting some more juice for my pointy, and I've ordered a full Yoshi TRS S/S system and a K&N filter. What more would you recommend for me? (Sorry for stealing your thread here, if you bother answering, you might do it with a PM).

Why does the dyno readout not have rpm data? Are they doing it on the cheap?

Will look great though, going for a cafe racer sort of thing with the clipons?

Looks very nice, I prefer pointies with fairings and curvies naked, although I'd shove a belly pan on, love bellypans on naked bikes!

Why not just swop the engines from the S to the N? Then keep the other engine as an unopened spare?
If you've got a heated place to work for the winter looks like a great project. Hope to see pics of the finished bike.

Thanks!

A dyno-jet stage 2 is some stuff for the carbs to let it run better. Don't ask me what it is, I didn't install it. But I am sure there are people around here who can tell you what it is...

I think you have stage 1, 2, 4 and 7, but I'm not sure about that. The higher, the more power.

But on a pointy, you will not need that as you know ;)

Installing an system and K&N will give you some horses more, but don't expect a lot! You will need to remap though... (pointy-people will help you out with gaining more power out of your machine! I am an curvy-specialist ;))

Don't know why it doesnt say the rpm's. Maybee because the speed is also shown and it can't do it both?

Cafe racer it will be

I am looking for a nice bellypan, but can't find one I realy like, or it is too expencive for what it is.

Because the S had 74000 km's on it and the N 'only' 23000.;)

I like the clip ons on the naked. Something I have planned myself. But you have also pointed out to me that Gixxer forks on a naked don't look good. Just my opinion of course so take no notice. But I don't think it looks right.

Glad to see you saw the light and went from curvy faired to curvy naked. And even better than that, went from hideous yellow to sublime black.

How did you crack the old frame by the way?

And I'm off to the Nurburgring at the end of June, fancy joining/meeting us there?

By crashing. :-# Me on the main road, one old man comming from the right (we ride on the right side of the road here in Belgium) who didn't see me comming and had to stop. I had to brake but making a turn and braking (I was surprised so the praking wasn't very progressive) isn't a good combination... Slided agaist the car and me behind it. I only had one sratch on my elbow!!! I was very lucky, but my SV wasn't... With the money from the insurence I bought the N and now we are this far already. ;) I just love the SV, that's why I bougth almost the same. :)

Surprisingly the R1 forks are much stronger than a SV frame! So I could keep the forks although I had to look for a new front wheel from a R1.

Thanks for the invite, but I will not have time to accopagny you due to my exams at the end of juni and my travelingplans. But I am looking forward to a visit at te Nurburing once the time has come... :D

I have to say, the N more fun than the S! Because it is lighter at the front (wheelies and stuf) and you feel much more ridingwind.
At the track I don't know yet, but I'm planning to do a trackday the 28 of april in Croix in France. Realy looking forward to it.
The topspeed is not the same, I've only could take it in 6th gear at 10000rpm's. Bearing in mind the N has one tooth more at the rear sprocket I could pull the S in 6th against the red zone...

Some black exhaust wrap might be good for the downpipe. Cracking looking bike though overall.
