View Full Version : Sheene Machine!!
Rode my K5 650s for the last time yesterday, dropped it off at esb bolton to pick up my new K5 SV1000s.
1 word, WOW! alot more power there, finding a dont need to change gear as much, but the weight difference is there but overall its alot smoother ride, even though its *cough*restricted*cough*
Took out the baffles for the first time today and nearly **** myself when i fired it up! I think the Yoshi cans may be too loud?
Anyhoo here you go!

20 year old, insurance is £680 TPFT and for the 650 it was £400 TPFT

i may have seen my next bike, sell it to me NOW!:D
i was told that i wouldn't be able to get insurance on a sv1000
insurance is via MCE, was ready to pay £844 but had to get a re-quote and came out at £680, both times was over the phone. Got breakdown cover and legal cover in it aswell, oh and covered for pillons aswell.

hi mate, congrats on the new bike.
I am 100% sure that I will be the only one who says this....
but....
I dont like it.
The lines of the paint job dont seem to suit the lines of the bike. and it doesnt quite sit right with me.
As long as you like it though, thats the main thing.
Enjoy! :D

what is it like on the restrictor power and gruntwise?I'm guessing about the same as a standard sv1000 ;)

it is a pointy so they are all quite slow power and gruntwise :smt106

Probably better not to ask about them restrictors
Just like we all have private runways whenever we talk about going a little bit faster than the limit ;-)
's OK I spose:D
I know where this debate on restrictors is going...

nice one - like the paintwork!!
grunt and power wise its alot better than the 650, different restrictor kit than i had on the 650, which was an ecu. The thou is restricted on the throttle so power is still there but not as much towards top end.

Very nice indeed. Chris Vermeulen (http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_news.htm?menu=news&news_id=21229&championship_id=3§ion=1) is running the same Barry Sheene colours at this weekend's Moto GP in Oz, although looking at his qualifying result, your bike is probably a lot faster with or without the restrictor.
