Is it me or does this bike look damn good?

According to TWO it's technically good, some fancy shaft drive system and some equally fancy variable valve timing system

but it looks like a proper beast of a thing to own the road on

It's you !! :p

IF I was in the market for this type of bike it would have to be the 'original' one - The Goldwing - or failing that a Pan European

haha yeah i'm not really into a tourer, but it looked quite macho, the goldwing looks abit more poofy :safe:

I agree that the Goldwing looks a bit camp (in a nice sort of way), whereas the GTR1400 looks a muscular beast, but there's no doubt in my mind as to which I'd prefer to tour on. Low revving and torque-laden is what I like when 2 up with a pillion. If you're going to make concessions about comfort/luxury/luggage capacity on a "tourer", why not go the whole hog and buy the 2008 Busa and whack a touring screen and some hard panniers on it?

According to ride it's called the 1400GTR as opposed to GTR1400, marketing people must have been having a slow day.

I like it myself, just couldn't see myself on a Goldwing or Pan, but I do like the fancy toys you get with it, keyless starty thing just to confuse people.

I want one. Load up the panniers and top box, stick girlfriend on the back, clear off to the lake district or something at 160mph

yeah not a bad little speed that!

goldwings are pretty awsome in their own way, but i think whilst i'm not grey and wrinkly, perhaps the more beefcakey bikes would be preferred

also anyone ridden a shaftie? it looks pretty slick on it

Looks a beast, wouldn't mind a go. Don't think I'd fit one down the side of the car on the drive though!
