View Full Version : My new and secret shame.
Picked up my little 'College Commuter' today - god it's whizzy!
I'd totally forgotton how to wring the throttle so far round just to get going ;) but wow, it's so light, and tiny, and skinny, and chuckable!
So say hello to 'Brian the Snail' and my not-so-secret t*pbox shame:

Very nice - just the thing for whizzing through town!

That is mint! Seriously hunni, that looks just the thing for nipping to the shops. Was thinking of a scooter, but that looks loads better (with panniers / top box).
how much was it and how did you find it?
Why would you want that much lugguage on a 125. Youre hardly going to tour on it...unless you where VERY dedicated!!
I like the Varadereo 125 a lot.
I also like the fact it has Bridgestone stickers down the forks but has Pirelli tyres :)

they are quite big for a 125, i saw one the other day in our local bike shop, at a glance you'd think it was a bigger engine, nice commuter:)
Its probably got more luggage space than my car! I wouldnt fancy riding it 2 up with fully loaded panniers!
The pictures make it look big. Is it?
Well, I'm teeny tiny so I make it look big too! ;)
It's skinny, but relatively tall - mind you, compared to the Blade this seating position makes me feel like a giant... I can actually look down into the back of pickup trucks!
The panniers are deceptive too - they are actually quite tiny, probably the smallest that Givi do (you can just fit an A3 folder in them) - so yeah, in photos it does look a bit 'bigger' I guess.
I found it on good ol' eBay. Alarmed/immobilser, all the luggage, original parts (it's got Rethal bars and a Remus exhaust - which sounds adequately cool 8)), full service history, new pads/discs, chain/sprockets & tyres, belly pan, Bagster cover (over a mint tank so it's not hiding any flaws) and not overly corroded in the parts where you'd expect (exhaust down-pipe, heat shields, forks etc.
Milage = 20k, but I never know whether that's high of low - the bike is an early '03 model.
£1500 - now I'm pretty crap at know the value of things (I had a look on Auto trader and they seemed to be about £1700 for similar but without the luggage), so feel free to tell me if I've got a good or bad deal.
But it's a pretty clean bike, got everything I need without me having to shop around for the extras and passed the 80 mile 'shakedown' trip home with flying colours...
... so at the end of the day I'm a happy bunny.
Now I just need to get used to the fact that I'm shy 800 odd cc's and have to work it rather than lazily roll on and off the throttle. ;)
