Could anyone recommend a decent tailtidy and it's manufacturer?

The standard indicator and license plate housing looks like something off the deathstar so I am hoping to replace quite soon :smt081

cheers

Yep. Good question - I'm in exactly the same position as you but your questions are about a week in advance of mine - keep em coming.

It does make you think who at Suzuki put that idea into CAD and thought "yeah, that looks like good piece of plastic. Lets build it and stick it on"

Ooger - strange indeed mate. Sleek lines and some lovely cuts at the front only to be visually punched in the face when you attempt to look at the back.

Jackie - cheers bud, will have a sniff around them now.

Thats what i went for - your welcome to have a look at my bike if you want to see it in the metal, although when i was looking for a tail tidy, this is what everyone recommended..... and now i would too!

Got an R&G one on mine, takes OE indicators and aftermarket ones, you get a LED light with it for the plate aswell.

That Evotech site has some quality merchandise on there..

Is the tail tidy hard to install ? Instructions seem simple enough but then I am a complete loser when it comes to anything remotely instructional..

Also like the crash bobbins they got on there.. anyone have these installed ??

I see we have opened the tail tidy can of worms again. They are all better than the standard snow shovel and not that bad to fit. Suzuki clearly designed the rear end on a friday at 4pm.

The undertray is another option with the use of a built in tail tidy

Dude I have R&G crash bungs I have seen them listed for £90 worth every penny, though I paid £100 for mine fitted got them with the bike, why are they worth the money? Simple casue I fell due to **** car driver end result slight scratches to the end can......

So what is the best tail for my bike any way? I want one, but which one to buy? I know the Hamacide ones don't fit flush so leave a gap underneath the bike so crap could get through.....So bad and and good what is the one to spend my hard earned on to make my bike look awesome from the rear!

you got any names for that CB ?? Did actually think that an undertray came as part of a tail tidy so if they don't normally, could do with one of those too !

I have the R&G one. Apparently they have got better since I had mine. However, they still don't leave space for the oem reflector (which I believe is an MOT fail?) and the wires and indie inside parts are expose to crud. The LED light isn't all that as the bulb has a tendency to rust as per the above. I sealed all the leads with hot glue and tape after refitting the indies and tail lights after they rusted through. It's still a bit rough and ready though.

Make sure you leave plenty of clearance for the plate and the wheel (most peeps bend the plate back) or the wheel will rip the plate off when you hit a heavy bump. This is a consideration for all tail tidies as the plate is sighted so much closer in to the bike.

Ps. On my R&G I had to drill a hole in the plate for the plate light. To get extra clearance. Pretty sure that's not legal!

Nope, easy as pie.

+1 only in my case it was due to my stupidity that the bike went on the floor. I also have a high level can, and the pillion footrest saved my can (the exhaust hanger bracket that's moulded to it hit the floor instead) :D

Nothing foolish about it. The bike has a reflector (required for either MOT or legal reasons - can't remember which). When you take the stock "tail tidy" off to replace it with the evotech (or other alternative), you loose the reflector too. Evotech sent me a reflective sticker (it has to be red) advertising them, so that got stuck on the numberplate light so that I still have a reflector.

You can get a little stick on button type reflector.

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacterer - used not just in biking world.

the standard rear fenda does look horrid but is there to do a job and it does it well, you don't realize until you fit a tail tidy how much road muck gets thrown up the tail of your bike, the tidy does enhance the looks 100% tho:)
