Removing coils/plug caps

Don't know if any model of sv has same items but how do I get them off my GSXR1000K3? I daren't pull them any harder but hand book sounds like they just pull off and says do NOT use pliers. Got a low rev misfire in damp conditions but can't see any moisture or corrosion. After seeing the state of the air filter I need to see the plugs! in case they are the problem(was supposedly FULLY serviced by shop 3k miles ago??):rolleyes:

They are the coil in plug type i think, i found them realy hard to remove from my TT, just holding and twisting around until it comes out.

I twisted around a bit but felt like I was goin to snap it if pulled any harder, would penetrating spray help or would it perish the rubber?
