Hi all, new here and don't yet have a full licence. Working on that at the moment and hopefully be all done by Christmas. Just in time to buy a second hand 04 yellow sv650s with the black frame...except there aren't any! There is one on autotrader, one I tell thee. One !!!

Whats going on, was this a rare model or something? I've tried searching here but can't find anything about it. The yellow and black look is awesome, can anyone shed some light please!

Cheers

I used to have a Yellow K4. And you are right the Black frames didint come in until the K5's. He has either powdercoated a K4 frame or put Yellow K4 bodywork onto a K5 frame. Just make sure it is changed on the V5 if this is the case. Could also point to a Cat c/d bike which is no bad thing. Just check it over.... Oh and welcome to the forum! :-)

K4 (2004) bikes have a silver frame. K5 ('05) onwards have the black.

By all means check it out before you buy it but dont be afraid to ask the guy questions and check all the paperwork, chassis numbers, engine numbers.

Thanks all, very helpful indeed. I'm going to wait until I have the licence, couldn't have that sat in the garage and ahem not errr 'test it out officer'...I reckon Suzuki have missed a trick not having that colour scheme over here.

Unless of course there is a better 600cc ish sporty (but not supers sports) sexy bike available. I can't really think of one!

Cheers again.

^^^^^What Hovis said...............

....defo an import (from US most likely) since it has those funny yellow reflectors on the forks. I too would quite likely have had yellow if it was available K5 when I bought mine. Needs lowers and a nice zaust for maximum effect though.

I'm certain yellow was available in my dealer when i bought my black K5, I remember looking at it and thinking it looked like a bumble bee. There was a black one a red one and a yellow one all lined up.

Not that I'm trying to steer you away from the superb sv and towards the gutless, ugly all rounder that is the 600cc Yamaha fazer, but if you like yellow and black and sporty, that is what springs to mind. ;)

hmmn, not too keen on the fazer full stop. looks wise the SV is pretty lush, and particularly fetching in the yellow & black, the one colour that doesn't seem to be freely available!

have just had an evaluation lesson on a 125 and am now booked in for the direct access in a few weeks. wehay!

you could buy an import?

or buy this http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=98609 and paint the plastics or try to get new/used parts? although, it looks mint as it is, if you have a yellow fetish some sort of yellow graffix might do the job?

hmmn, very nice in black too. i don't have a yellow fetish, i might have even talked myself into a nice red one now. so fickle, but better now than after i've bought the wrong one :-)
