Rode the bike home and its like a bag of poo, rough as hell, low speed is awful. So I guess its carb' tune time.

So can anyone show me how and maybe lend me some Carbtunes until I source my own.

You can pick thm up on ebay for cheap as people tend to buy them for use once - as it still works out cheaper than getting a garage to do it. Working them is really easy.

I have been eying them up on ebay, though I was hoping to get it done this weekend.

Is the carbtune easy to use?

I have got some gauges :)

If you can get a length of pipe attached to the front nipple (then block off with a bolt) its a 15 min job ...

Grinch

I have that bit of pipe there now.

That's better :)

If you have the bit of pipe on it already, we can do it in about 15 mins ... (+10 mins removing/replacing seat&lifting tank), so can do it after work one day/eve next week. :)

If you don't get it sorted with Blue then let me know and I can post them to you. One of those tools that is great to have but only gets used once a year!

I pre-empted this and have the gauges with me today :)

As long as you have the little pipe on the front bit so we don’t need to rummage in the dark to try and find your nipple, just streetlights should do (bring a torch though) … I was thinking North harbour Tescos would work well for me and it is floodlit … we also won’t annoy anyone with the noise and I don’t have to worry about you murdering me in a remote spot!! :)

Can you make North harbour tescos tonight at 19:45??

Grinch

You could just come to my gaff its only about 3 minutes from there... plus we have the option of tea and maybe cake or something.

Have some respect for your neighbour’s man!! :D

Also your bike needs to be up to full temp, so needs a ride.

If things get a bit fiddly (require more tools/light) then we can both ride back to yours.

It just sounds like your going to attack me in Tesco's car park, Oh and the neighbors are used to it.

I am more concerned about you locking me in your dungeon - donning that gimp mask and ‘probing’ me!! ... :D

Seriously it makes sense, its easy for me (I don’t have to try and find your place) and it wont annoy neighbours !! - bish bash bosh, 15 mins to sort it out and I/we are on our respective merry ways!! :smt023

So Tescos petrol station (near the air pump thingy) at 19:45 - be there or be square!! :D

Grinch
23-10-07, 03:42 PM

Not the car park then...

The carpark is huge!!! but ok, the carpark - just inside it i.e. the petrol station end of the carpark - to the right ... out of the way then and yet easy to find :)

God you are hard work!! … are you a woman?!!? :D

Grinch

Yes, I'm a girly girl who likes flowers and pink flouncy things.

Just to let everyone know, although Mr Grinch's bike now runs sweet as a nut, he won't be posting on here any more ... after balancing his carbs, I murdered him with an open ended spanner - I buried his corpse under a little shrub in the Tescos carpark - if anyone wants to go put flowers down or nick his wris****ch or summin, that's where his corpse is!!

Grinch
23-10-07, 08:41 PM
What he doesn't know is that survived his smacking me round the noggin', un-earthed myself and rode my sweet as a nut balanced bike home. I'm now in the process of watchin' his gaff and considering how I can drag him back to my dungeon and 'probe' him.

Question is how many people were wondering if my story was actually true?!!? :smt019

Good to hear that Helgar (sp) is behaving herself now, she was a fair ways out!! 8)

I know you said you would like your own at some point anyway, but if you ever want it done again, just give us a shout, no problem doing the same again :)
