If the link doesn't work bassaleg is just off junction 28 of the M4, first exit off the roundabout if you're coming from cardiff, then second exit off the next roundabout and the layby is immediatly on the left.

Remember to get a full tank of fuel before we meet up.

Zombie/Draper - Meet up at Texaco Petrol Station - SUPER IDEA !! I will be there too !! I need to get petrol and the Uni Halls is the opposite way for me Draper. If you know where Newport Rd is, we can meet up there no worries.. There is a texaco station by PC World. Shall we meet there at 9.40am ????

Draper
19-10-07, 08:56 PM
yes i am looking forward to my first proper ride out, see some (hopefully) nice bits of wales, all be it if it passes rather quickly

Draper
20-10-07, 02:06 PM
how was it then?

gutted i couldn't make it, stupid ****ty bike, really peeing me off at the moment. Think i'm gonna rip that alarm out, never had a problem with the battery until it was fitted, and now i got a new battery so... when all else fails, give it a kicking

Welsh_Wizard
20-10-07, 04:49 PM
Drapes, was a quality ride indeed but certainly not one you would have wanted to break down on. Not much civilisation around for a fair few miles either way.. I know the way we went so we can always do it another time when you got the battery sorted..

Draper
20-10-07, 05:27 PM
yeah i'll rip the alarm off, get some jump leads and hopefully it'll be back in action

it's alright once its going, just when cold and left for more than a few days it just cant quite start

let you know how i get on and we'll go out for a stint

Welsh_Wizard

Don't think we could have done a longer route because it was seriously cold this morning

definately worth getting a trickle charger draper, if you havn't already got one. I had the same probs with my curvy in the last 6 months I owned it.

+1

Bike batteries are pretty small, with an alarm fitted they drain current, it does't take too long to discharge em. I use an Optimate if the bikes not used for much over a week.

Draper
20-10-07, 11:46 PM
yeah i have an optimate, but actually using it is a hastle.

uni buildings, hard to get bike to a plug socket (then when you wheel your bike as close to the window as possible with leads dangling out, cctv is on yo ass and security guards are there telling you to move it now)

so i'm thinking maybe just disconnect the alarm? its causing far more agro than it's worth, missed things, the worst of all being saturdays rideout. Ive got a sturdy chain and a disclock so if someones going to nick it they're probably going to nick it regardless?
