You should never sell your old games systems. I sold my N64 and all the games then a few years later bought another and started building my games collection again. I've got a NES, SNES, N64, PS1 and PS2
Although I never play them anymore  but its good to know they're there lol

One word ... playability ;-)
You just don't get that in so many games these days. All you get is "eye-candy". Otherwise how else would you explain the "phenomenal success" (?) of DOA? It is, when all said n done, just another "fighter" ... only with a super-dooper-ultra-realistic-physics-engine, which is just another way of saying "Look, her b00bs bounce when she jumps!". LMAO
Games producers have just got their priorities all wrong ... nobody cared about colour-clash back then (unless of course you were trying to write a game!) ... gamers just played them because they could ... and they could play for them hours upon hours!
:) Ahhh, nostalgia ... its not what it used to be ... oh wait a minute, that's exactly what it is! ;-) LOL
I've just bought some Gameboy games from ebay (no, not Gameboy Advance).

yeah but then ... no colour clash, and no beep-beep-beepity-beep ;-)
Actually, think of it as comparable to the reasons why some people prefer to watch a good Charlie Chaplin movie as opposed to the latest "Hollywood blockbuster" ;-)
.... GEEKS!!!!!....
carry on ;)

i have actually got this on original CD-ROM:D
Pedro68

original CD-ROM?? ppfffftttt ... what happened to the C15 tapes where you loaded them on some dodgy old cassette player and if you didn't adjust the volume level to the correct level (which only dogs could differentiate between) then the game wouldn't load?!
Those were the days, oh yeah! LOL

Also had to adjust the tape speed screw tiny amounts to get games to load!!

This is why kids are so fat & lazy nowadays.
I had a ZX81, with the whopping 16K (or was it 32K), plug in bit at the back.
You set up your tapes to play to load up the game, and while it was taking its usual 20-30 mins to load, you went outside and played 5-a-side footie with your mates, or got your bikes out and raced each other around the block.
Loads of fresh air and exersize.
Maybe we should make the current games consoles take 20-30 mins to load up, might stop the latest obese kids scene.
Haha I remember the Spectrum loading trauma. It made you really value the game once you started playing it :)
I've got an Amiga emulator called Lemonade on my pc so I can play some of my old favourites like Stunt Car Racer, F/A 18 Interceptor, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Robocod, Wizball, Skidmarks and others. Great fun, but I was definitely remembering them being better than they actually are.

Well the kids of today would only spend that time downloading and printing off cheats, hints, tips, and "walkthru's" off t'internet ;-)
Haha I remember the Spectrum loading trauma.
Which is why ... sad as this may seem ... I disassembled the loading routine, then changed the "baud rate", and re-assembled it, and saved it (along with the rest of the actual game) to a new tape :) Game now loaded in anything from 2 mins to about 5 mins. Didn't work with all games mind you, but it worked with a good few :) I was WELL CHUFFED :D
Now how SAD is that?!? PMSL

Just a thought ... but I think that a lot of these old games and emulators would make an IDEAL add-on for all these fancy phones nowadays ... cos most of the games you can get for phones nowadays have the life-span of a house-fly (which is around 24 hours in case you didn't know). Can you imagine a phone with MAME on it?! or a speccy emulator and "chucky egg" :D LMAO

Haha I remember the Spectrum loading trauma.
I saw a band once that used a spectrum game's loading sound as their intro music. I swear it was Chase HQ.
