Does anyone know what it would take to get a '05 sv to run a 10.9 in the quarter mile? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

iirc the official figure for the pointy is 11.9

edit: if you believe wikipedia it's 11.87 sec @ 110.02 mph...

Never mind keeping the front wheel on the ground! I think those figures are somewhat hopeful

From what I've heard that would be good if you really want the SV crank, as a hat.

And £855! Get forked mate I could build one for half that!

I managed a 12.4 @ 105mph on my K1 Naked at Santa Pod - to get under 12 would really be going some!

I really want to get mine up to the strip at Crail some time, to see if my mods and negligible weight offset my obvious incompetence and cowardice. I suspect not, though. But I did a few runs using my Veypor (no reaction time, as it starts the clock when you launch) ages back, and got it down to , if I remember right, 11.2 at 112mph. I absolutely guarantee that it's the rider not the bike that's the limiting factor there, I wasn't putting the power down that well at the launch. So, I reckon a more skilled rider would get that into the tens, no problem. But that's corrected for reaction time, so, unless you get a holeshot it'll go back up.

Not sure exactly what tune the bike was in at the time though, downgeared by a tooth and probably around 75rwbhp on a dj machine.

Nah! 10.9 standing quarter on a SV650?

Not in this world.

Plenty of old Fireblades and ThunderAces...spend you dough on one of them.
