Then %$@& off back behind the wall where you belong !! :p

I'm guessing that you one of those 'professional Scotsmen' - anywhere you go in the world you will always find a Scotsman (generally in a bar) going on & on & on about Scotland being 'God's country' / 'the most beautiful place on earth' / 'the greatest country in the world' . . .

. . . If it's really so great then WHY AREN'T THEY THERE ???? !!!!

Exactly the unfriendly attitude alluded to in the original post;););)<<<N.B.

I have noticed that some areas acknowledge you more than others, i.e.this rat race we call the glorious South where people have more traffic to contend with it isn't always possible, where as rustic locations with a more laid-back lifestyle normally gets a return greeting be it a hand, nod or leg. Who knows the answer and why, and is it all that important after all ,do you do it driving your cars?
What with all the new rules regarding sat nav, radios, smoking, unwrapping a sweet and having a drink its probably regarded as an offence anyway

They buy ****loads of it too! Not surprised mind you. How many times has london tap water been thru somebody elses body? :smt078

Here we just turn on the tap and a crystal clear loch pours right through :) !

Well when you live in an unfriendly world I suppose a couple of litres of scottish lifestyle for less than a quid is damn good value ;-)

Scotland is a beautiful country but it does have its dumps as does anywhere else, and i don't think nodding your head could be an offense but can understand how miserable gets would use that as an excuse

He's an Ulsterman by trade and, while he's a very talented amateur Scotsman in his time off, I don't think he'll make the jump to professional...

But where the hell is he?

I beg to differ - see my post about the way I was treated. Every time I've been down in Northumberland the air of friendliness is non existent amongst bikers. My other half Lisa (who is English and is still living there) will happily back me up. She always says how unfriendly people are in England when she's pillion. When in Scotland it's completely different story.

For the record - Mart's Irish!!! As for it being God's country - well it is! Scotland's like swedish porn to the eye whereas Engurlund is more like your readers wives.

Oh - I'm still here and have no intention of moving.

As for those people who aren't there - probably hounded out their homes by certain settlers who stick "Private Road" on their gates.

Would you people please get your facts right.

FROM THE MET OFFICE...

"There is a general misconception that the whole of Scotland experiences high rainfall. In fact, rainfall in Scotland varies widely, with a distribution closely related to the topography, ranging from over 3,000 mm per year in the western Highlands (comparable with rainfall over the mountains of the English Lake District and Snowdonia in Wales) to under 800 mm per year near the east coast (comparable with the Midlands of England).......The east coast of Scotland tops the league table for the driest part of the UK"

It's just that people like to see the pretty hills and magic roads (West Coast / Highlands) - INCLUDING us!

Oh yeah - ans some of us also realise that we have great roads in other parts of the land. We're just not telling you eh Stuart?

Garry:king:

Should have been on the last rideout. Plenty good dry roads and pretty hills away from the west coast. The Braemar road I think just about tops the list as the best road ever. As for other roads - I've been everywhere between Durness to Dumfries so there's not many I don't know about.
