Dean Gaffney (former Eastenders) caught doing nearly 100* on M25, in roadworks, while on his mobile, was given £115 fine, £43 costs & 3 points - didn't even show up to court.

I think he'll be saying Thank you very much right about now!

*Not sure what a jounalistic nearly 100 actually is.

Dosnt state units...100 kph perhaps :-D

Na, this is stupid, He should have a court appearence I think, my dad had to go to court for a 92 mph speeding offence, he was caught on a clear dual carrigeway on his old GSXR750-WN (cradle frame thing) on a sunny day. NO where near as dangerous as this, since he wasnt on his mobile phone either!

I was done 92mph on a motorway once, it had to be a court case but you don't have to attend if you plead guilty by post.

The law is an A$$ ...

I was caught doing 93mph on a "virtually deserted" M53 at 8am on a Sunday morning.
Result? £120 fine + 4 pts!

IBM account manager (at the time) got caught doing about 105 - 115mph (can't remember the exact figure) on the M6 during a busy weekday.
Result? £40 fine + 3pts!?!

Go figure that one!? Grrrrr!

I was followed, overtaken by and overtook them for about 25 miles M57, M60, M61, between 90 and 135 MPH, when I finally left the motorway, Mr plod waved me good bye.

Been also pulled for 80 in a 30 and told off. Yep it was a bloody scamera van that put points on my unblemished 30 yr old license
