I had a result yesterday on looking for an insurance quote for my renewal.
It is due on 31/10.
My current insurers were after 230 fully comp with a 250 xs.
A few calls later and I had 209 from Swinton using Chaucer but if I took the insurance today she could do it for 185.
Rang my current insurers, Carol Nash, and told them I could get it for 185 and could they do anything better. They said 199.
Now, I have been with Carol Nash a few years and am happy with the service so far so I thought that I would pay the extra as I felt happy with them. I said I would still look around and possibly get back to them.
A couple of hours later Swinton rang back and I said that I would probarbly be sticking with my current insurers. Then she said that if I took it now she would do it for ...............156.
Guess what, I took it at 156.
Moral of the story, if your insurance is due near the end of the month, barter with them as they have to reach their targets. She did admit to giving a good price so she could reach her targets.
So, 156 fully comp on my K6 SV650S with sp60, 6yrs ncb and living in a not so nice area seems a nice price to me.

Nice one cant fault that, i have been doing some dummy online qoutes and the prices are a fair bit more than i paid last year :(

I paid £365 last year fully comp, 0 NCD, 23 years old, no claims or convictions, kept in a garage with £250 excess.

This years dummy qoutes with the exact same as above + 1 years NCD are coming in at £500+ with £600 excess.

WTF

Try H & R if you haven't already. I just got my '04 s insured for £320 fully comp with 1 year ncd and £250 excess. Same as you except I'm 25, I was pleased because I paid nearly £450 last year.
