Hi,

Am i right in saying that the adjustment screw on the curvy sv65o carbs are located underneath the carbs themselves and a angled screwdriver is needed to adjust?

Just want to double check before I start adjusting the wrong things!!!!

AYe, it's right underneath and a sod to get to unless you're a small child, or have only 3 fingers but 5 elbows. But remember, it's just for the idle, it's not a master adjustment screw as some will tell you.

Yes, it is stupidly placed!!!

I find the best ting to do is to take a reading - then stop the bike, if you twist the throttle full-on, as it moves, you will see the adjuster screw on the mechanism appear at the rear left (if you were sat on the bike) underneath the airbox. I then 'twiddle' the adjuster with my fingers (best to have a beautiful assistant to hold the throttle open whilst you do this), let the throttle go and then restart the bike ... take a reading - rinse and repeat until you have it right, ok, so its a bit of stopping and starting, but its easy to do and you don't need to disturb anything :smt045 8)

Oh and just to check, we are talking about the 'balance' adjuster not the idle adjuster right?? :oops:

Ah, I thought we were talking about the idle mix screw but aye, now I read it again the balancing whotsit makes more sense doesn't it.

Idle adjustment is the knob on left hand side, under the tank, accessible from the side of the bike, but, a bitch to twist with your fingers. No screwdriver needed.

The carb sync screw, which syncronizes the vacuums for both cars is under then tank, airbox must be removed on lefthand side of cars. It looks like one screw with a spring going into another spring.

The air mixture screws are part of the carb itself, but, on accessible (by me) unless you pop the carbs off and twist them a bit. Choke cable can stay on, but, throttle cables must be disconnect at the carb end.

Manual is good for all this.

Yeah, we're talking about the screw you need to turn when trying to balance the carbs as the bike is sounding rough at the moment. the idle is already set at 1300rpm
