Has anyone found the best product to either spray into the Carbs or add to the fuel to clean the fuel system ?

Wynns make a few carb cleaing products, I prefer the old fashioned way of draining some fresh fuel through the system, or if they're really bad then take the float bowls off and clean them the old fashioned way.
Carb or injector cleaner additives do work, though they won't clear out crud like rust powder. They'll usually reduce deposits from evaporated fuel (varnish/gum).
Use a well known brand available at car accessory shops, something like Redex is a safe bet. Stick to the recommended dosage, more is not better.
You can use Injector cleaner in carbs with no probs. They are pretty much all catalyst/lambda sensor friendly since they are usually straightforward hydrocarbon products with no metallic elements added (which are the things which will usually do the damage).

That fact is why I prefer to clear the float bowls out manually.
As for lambda sensors and cats, not really valid for a curvy, and even a catted bike can be ignored as theres no emissions test on the MOT.
