Me and the Mr have a week off together in November and i rekon we could do with a break away. ive recently come into some money which i could dip into. (baring in mind the money was allocated for another purpose) However im exhausted and so is he and i think a nice holiday somewhere warm would do us good. it might just mean being a bit tight with xmas pressies. So good idea or bad idea???:confused::confused::confused:

Assuming you weren't planning on buying me a very large and expensive Christmas present this year (and why would you??) then yes, you should both go on holiday and relax in the sunshine. HTH :D

i really want to, think "mr" will need convincing though. i think it will do us good
save the money and stay at home with the rest of us miserable lot
Go away, have a great time, and b*gg*r the Xmas presents. Christmas is far too commercial these days anyway, with people only interested in what they're gonna get. Just tell everyone you're going to give them all the same...................NOTHING!:D

Two birds one stone.Go away for Xmas.
You need to go a long way to find some hot weather this time of year though.

Cyprus can be cold and wet this time of year.It even snows up the mountains there in December and January.(Theres a ski resort at Troudos).
I was there this time last year and the weather was mostly good, but broke for the last two days.Thunder storms and floods took over around the coast, but the mountains were still OK.

Canaries are nice this time of year but do check the weather before you plan that as it could just be cloudy but warm...which on those windy islands isnt all that great.
but cheap tp get to and cheap when you're there.
Me? i'd bugger off nearer x-mas and ignore the whole bloody thing but them i'm very much a bah humbug :D

If you can get the flights for a good price, for a nice part of the Canaries, lovely beaches www.ownersdirect.co.uk (http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk) , Jandia theres a 1 bed or 2 bed apartment for £295....no it's not mine, but it's where I looked at to go this year, but didn't. Been to Jandia and it's better than Costa Calida.

teletext is where i used to find loads of good deals from and there are loads of websites for last minute deals....but dont waste your time with lastminute.com as i've always found it to be more about the hype than the deals.
there is a really good website but the name escapes me at the mo. You can find flights, hotels and car hire all on one sight and there deals are pretty good too.
It'll come to me and i'll post it when it does.

Thats the fella!!!!
bargain holidays are quite good too. you put in your airport and destinate and dates and they give you total price. whereas some others give you hotel, then flights.
go for it. id love to go away at xmas as I hate it bahh humbug.
so much pressure to spend lots of money that I just dont have. but feel guilty letting kids down. ex gets away with buying one present for each kid. he doesnt realise they expect to see a huge pile of presents. they are getting more understanding the older they get. anyway rant over.
sorry to derail. get away on holiday and have a lovely time

A couple of years ago I was looking for somewhere to go with my daughter. It was actually cheaper to go to all-inclusive Kenya for two weeks.............safari included..............than to go to Cyprus:D

where did you book that
I just went into Thomas Cook and checked out their offers. It was absolutely amazing. Five days at a Mombasa beach hotel, four on safari in Amboceli, then five more back at the hotel. Fabulous.

If you want to be somewhere warm ... use some of the money to pay the extra your gas/electricity bill will cost to keep the heating on for a whole week (or two). Hire a projector and project images of sun-kissed beaches onto the biggest wall in your living room ... get a washing up bowl filled with sand and stick ya feet in it ... and finally pay for someone to wait on you hand n foot for the week (I'm sure a small foreigner would accept less than minimum wage, cash-in-hand n all that ;-) LOL).
Or you could go away and just send everyone a post-card saying "Hope you like the postcard cos it's ya xmas pressie :-P" ;-)
