First Born is a British (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom) television (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television) serial produced by the BBC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC) in 1988 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988).
Charles Dance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Dance) starred as genetic researcher Edward Forester, whose work leads him to create a man-gorilla (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorilla) hybrid, using his own sperm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spermatozoon) and cells taken from a female gorilla. He then raises the baby as his own son, only to find that there are horrifying consequences for playing God.
Ah even better -
