Not in any particular order...

Losing a loved one is my biggest fear if you can call it a fear,

but some others are spiders, deep water (sea), falling, fire, and some other stuff.

Hmm, being burnt alive I suppose is the *worst* fear. Ironic really as moderate pyromania was one of the many things to survive my childhood (to be honest, mental and emotional development really stopped at age 12, like most boys)

Serious liberal lefty fear, as in one I genuinely worry about on a regular basis, would be the erosion of a liberal democracy, individual freedoms, and the growth of a Big Brother state, supposedly for our own benefit.

Apart from fearing the loss of loved one'sas previously mentioned. The only thing I can think of is having something like a coat or blanket held over my head that is guaranteed to freak me out. There are perhaps one or two other things that I am a touch nervous about but this one is my worst.

Being slowly crushed. One of the Superman films has a scene where CK ends up in a trash compactor at a junkyard. I remember feeling sick watching that as a kid. And I don't like that bit with the vice in Casino much either :)

I dont like edges that drop away over deep water, like a Harbour or a Quayside. I feel into a swiming pool when I was three and nearly drowned and I really really dont like anything that resembles closely that situation.

Being spotted in a concert by Kylie Minogue, whereupon she leaps down from the stage and charges towards me; and ,even though I run as fast as I can for an old man, slowly she gains on me, overpowers me and against my wishes.....

I'm terrified of that. It's why I don't go to her concerts any more. Paranoid.

Dogs. Running. At. Me. Barking. Looking Nasty. Jumping Up At Me.

I dont like dogs, I can be ok around them but only if they are on a lead and if they look thorouly lworn out / too old to jump up or bite or eat me alive.

I'm also scared of what would happen if I lost Maria, I just don't know what I'd do. In any case, I wouldn't last long without her (no lie, honest).

And its not really a fear but I wouldn't to die slowly, knowing that I can be saved with a quick fix but no-one there to bodge me a repair.

Not that I can honestly recall. Another thing that plays on my mind and which is possibly related is pot holing. You know where they go squeezing through little holes and through under water pools? I just think FFS, what if you can't find your way back out or something blocks it? Not nice at all.:(

Spot on... My biggest fear is being trapped in a small space - I'm fine with lifts, wardrobes etc, as I know there's a way out - but I panic when I'm not in control, like if someone held the doors shut.

Bizarrely though, I quite like being stuck in lifts between floors - I spent four hours once stuck in a lift between the 23rd and 24th floors of the Cosmos Hote (http://www.hotelcosmos.ru/)l in Moscow when i was about 15, and it was pretty good fun.

And? I look scarier then a spider in the morning and its more like a rat crawled in to my mouth and died, a spider would be rather refreshing.

Not really. The thought of losing a loved one, or disablement is really scary to me, more so than death.

The thought that anyone would find out that, at heart, I'm a wanton coward.

All my fears are because of something that has happened to me.

My first fear is the deep sea and not knowing what is beneath me whilst swimming in it. This is because when I was surfing in the south of France once I stood on a fish which paralysed my legs, I could not swim to shore or anything and got dragged to shore by my sister. Now when swimming in the sea I hate it.

My second fear is unprotected heights. I have fallen from numerous tree and come close to landing on my head once and since then heights have bothered me. I'm more than happy on a 20 storey construction site looking over the edge with a secure barrier, but if its just a pathetic piece of scaffold and toeboards I hate it. Recently though which is embarrassing I drove across the Humber bridge and workmen were walking up the suspensions, I felt my stomach and knees go.

My other fear is spiders, I used to love them, could pick them up and throw them at my sister. BUT whilst in Scotland once I swear to god a spider bit me at my grans house whilst in my hand. Ever since if its a quick spider that I cant judge what its doing it freaks me out in the same way as described above, in particular those MASSIVE house spiders.

I think that is all for now. Goof Topic

Edit: I fear of loosing my girlfriend, everyday when we leave for work at the same time i fear for a phone call saying she has been involved in an accident of some kind. She isn't the most confident of drivers and is used to commuting 1 mile until recently where she now commutes 100 miles a day on the M1 and on her route everyday there is ALWAYS an accident, I fear that one day it will be her.

You can laugh my friend! It just so happens that next Tuesday I AM in court in Malaga!:farao:

However I have been called as a testigo,(witness) in a civil action case. This annoys me somewhat as the prosecution for whom I am to act as a testigo for, have not spoken to me at all regarding the matter!

So in to court to face questions in my second language, something I must admit I find rather daunting despite my passable knowledge of the language.

My biggest fear is losing a loved one. I can handle anything except that. I'd fall to pieces if I lost either of my parents.

Second fear would be falling, I love heights just **** scared of falling, and it's not even the sudden stop at the bottom, just the falling.

Third fear is the same as above.

Think the second and third fear are both linked by not being in control, I'm a control freak and really don't like it if someone or something takes away my control.

yep, losing a loved one is up there.

And also confined spaces, this is since I was a kid. My brother and I used to slide down the stairs head first in our nylon sleeping bags, pretending we were jet pilots. ....great fun until he held the top of mine down and I FREAKED, thought I was going to rip the bag open with pure adrenaline ! (G*T!) Big brothers, sometimes they toughen you up, sometimes they leave you with an ever lasting fear :D

Don't like confined spaces where I feel trapped. I can deal with lifts and stuff, but I wouldn't be able to go caving and stuff where I have to crawl. I used to fear heights, particularly high bridges over water, but now I'm generally ok, but I don't like going near the edge! And weirdly enough, flying, even in a light aircraft, is fine. And finally, spiders. Hate the things. Some of them I can deal with, but not most. There are probably a few other fears I can't think of or haven't found yet!

Hoivs in a dress ???

My fears are :

1. Spiders - the huge mahoosive ones that eat small children in South America type (not the crap ones you find over here in the UK in the bath now and then..)
2. Dying - Life is good. Alot better than lying in a box.
3. Close family dying

Heights, although I love flying and I really want to learn to pilot one of those gliders things.

Being a passenger - I don't like being in control, cars i'm not as bad but I have been on my bosses R1200GS with him and it was while i had a bike too, his riding is an utter discrace and i wanted to get off straight away. Like i say its the thought of not being in control. Same with rollercoasters planes etc.

Heights for me is a biggie, can't deal with it, whilst on the i think horseshoe pass following Pete and Lissa i looked over the edge, wasn't far drop but still i looked and fixated on it, my legs dropped away and then i remembered where i was. Its just any heights really that get me.

Most of all same as GraemeP, losing the girlfriend. Dunno what i would do without her, she is the most amazing person i have ever known, and she puts up with me :) Not worried of losing her driving but just for any reason.

Also losing parents, we have our ups and downs all the time but they are great my folks. I fell out with my folks a few months ago for a while, my Grandad who is more of a mate to me said take some advice from me, "never go to bed on a bad note", "one of you may not wake up". Its a bad way of looking at it but right IMO.

Essay over!
