Hang on. I thought it was ice cream not fruit. Speaking of which, I didn't exactly rate theirs the last few times I've visited. Luvians along from Cupars was much nicer. How about Nardinis at Largs? I'm sure they still have a shop, failing that, there's the "Green Shutters" down on the front. Plenty of bike parking and the chance of a hot coffee or whatever if it's a bit crap weather wise.

There's no Nardinis shop in Largs any more but you can still get Nardinis ice cream in one of the cafes near the ferry. We'll be the only customers...
25th of Novemeber? 9th of December?

I would preferr the 9th as i am going to a ceilidh on the 24th.

I'd prefer to stick with St.Andrews personally as the east coast is always much drier in winter than the west.
i would prefer st andrews as its a bit of a tradition now. onto 4th year or is it 5th?

I think you'll find that there is.... I just can't be sure exactly where. I seem to remember that it was up one of the streets around the original. The cafe you mean is The Green Shutters that I mentioned - it's cosy in there.:)

Hell, statistically it's dryer outside on the east than it is indoors in the west. And don't i know it. :(
But Largs would be nice. :-D

I agree with Kitty St Andrews has always been the ice cream run this is to be its 5th year
If largs is appealling then why not arrange a rideout to largs I would go to both
But Ice cream run has to be St Andrews

That's 4 votes for the 9th, including one from the organiser (um, that's you Careless) so shall we just go for it?
carelesschucca
03-11-07, 12:21 PM
I'm organising? Oh Dear, serves me right for opening my mouth... If its me in Control its St Andrews on the 9th December... I'll get a route sorted...
Why not go do St.Andrews to end this year/season and Largs to open the next, say end of January? :D
I'm not saying i could defo do both or either as I work 5 outta 6 weekends, makes things tricky.

Stick the meter on the battery to check the voltage before you start the bike.. usually about 12- 12.5 ish, after you start her up the voltage should rise to 13.5- 13.8 ish. If the voltage does not rise the alternator has a gremlin installed.. If it does rise yer battery's fooked ;)

The first was in 2002 but it wasnt named "ice cream run" until 2003 when we went again and of course got ice cream again.(I think Dean is responsible for naming it)
Personally I have not been to all the runs but I believe Dean, Hazel and myself are whats left of the first run in 2002.

No Risk (Grey)
-- Heavy Snow & Severe Gales--
Areas Affected: Snow : Upper ground England/Scotland Severe Gales South Wales/Southern Ireland/South-west England
Some exceptional weather around this weekend ahead of storm Isaac which is expected to cross the UK during Saturday and Sunday.
http://www.metcheck.com/DATA/FORECAST/WARNINGS/UK/WARNING.jpg
Initially, there are warnings of heavy snowfall for a time across Northern England and Scotland as the frontal system from Isaac pushes North-east against colder surface air.
Accumulations of up to 3-5cm are possible before a rapid thaw takes place later on Saturday.
Late on Saturday evening and into Sunday, severe gale force winds will pick up to the West of Ireland and Swing South-east across Southern Ireland, South Wales and South-west England.
Winds of up to 70mph with gusts of up to 90-100mph across exposed coasts brings the risk of structural damage along possible sea surge flooding on Sunday afternoon along North Cornwall as the winds combine with high tide around 4pm.
Mariners should be aware the sea state around much of Southern England will be rough or very rough throughout the warning period.
