Right this weekend I've mainly been watching:

The Long Way Round
Terra Circa
The Long Way Down
Road to Dakar

Got me thinking it would be cool to do such a thing but, out of the tele lot who would you prefer to ride with.

The call goes like this: "Hi Dirk*. We've got a bike trip planned & we think that it's going to be easy. So, to make it harder we're going to invite you as you belong to that crashy SV org". Who's on the end of the phone?

The options are as above.

Ewan/Charlie had a good laugh & rode a lot & meet/interacted with loads of locals.
Terra Circa had a good laugh fixing their own Suzuki 350s without too much stress
Hairy Bikers cook all the food you'll need (result!).

Think I'd prefer the Hairy Bikers. The experienced the local culture & had loads of fun doing it.
Terra Circa had fun but didn't seem to interact with the locals.
Ewan/Charlie seemed over relient on the most expensive kit/a huge back up crew.

Mind you, this question's only hypothetical as I rarely give my telephone number out.

*In the highly likely event that your name isn't Dirk them: [insert your name here]

Paris-Dakkar would be my choice. When I last checked though it costs about 8'000 just to enrol.:smt119

None of the above options - they're not what overland travel is about in my mind. that said, it would be handy to have the Hairy Bikers on hand to cook dinner!
