Got a parking ticket on the car yesterday whilst parked outside work so decided to take the bike today....... got soaked on the way in and got showered with salt on the way home...... definately not a good day for the bike but it was £30 cheaper :D

Spotted a lot of grit last night in Cumbernauld.

When I started the car this morning it bleeped at me and announced that the outside air temp was 2C - think winter is on the way!!:(

Am I missing something??? Are the councils south of Kinross spending their budgets early?

I can tell you for a fact that the weather around Kinross and Perth is very mild for November. Mike who was at the last rideout drives Gritter lorries in the winter and he assures me he has not been called out once.

I've been out to Crieff 4 times this week, and back via Perth and Glenfarg and the roads are A1. Fantastic grip and feck all gritters in sight. I'm riding 7 days a week and not a single spot of salt anywhere.

Am I riding in a parrallel universe or something?

Tomorrow I'm heading to the Green Welly (if its dry)...confused from Kinross.

Mostly Grampian stuff, but an A90 fatal in Brechin was attributed to the ice this morning, thats only 40 miles from Perth.

The whole central belt was about 2-4 degrees this morning. Strathallan airfield on the A9 at Braco dropped to 4.5 degrees and Leuchars dropped to 3.5 according to met office website

Current forecast for Kinross is forecast 0 feels like -3 for Sunday night.

Kinross can't have been all that toasty mate.

If you don't have gritters out this weekend, I'd be lodging a complaint.

Guys...I can't speak for anywhere else but I already said Mike drives gritter lorries in the Winter. They haven't been out in this area "yet". The weather here today is mild and wet. Metcheck is totally wrong for today's forecast because I'm looking outside as we speak and the thermometer on the wall says 10 degress at 10.30 in the morning. I walked home from the pub last night and it was Mild and dry.

Anyone that knows anything about gardening will know that the first frost will kill off the bedding plants - well ride through Kinross, Bridge or earn and Perth and you will see there are still summer baskets with summer bedding plants still in them.

I've been riding 7 days a week and 4 times from here to crieff and there's no sign of salt on the roads or my bike - yet. The weather has been fine, the roads have been fine and that's all I'm saying.

Oh...Kinross is in Perthshire not Fife dude ;)

Plowsie? How do you know what the weather up here is like from Northhampton or wherever you come from?

I stayed near Pitenweem for a few years and the one of the things i noticed was that the weather on the east side of the country is alot milder-maybe thats how us westies are a more Hardy bunch:smt056

Oh really - most of the westies I hear put their bikes away for the winter ;) - me I ride all year round.

Kinross has a Kirkcaldy postcode? So what? Parts of Dundee have Perthshire postcodes and vice versa. It was Kinross-shire - it's own county for years until it was agregated into Perthshire - it's never been part of Fife and it's still in Perthshire now.

Oh...forgot to say the grass needs cut again - that's how mild it is here.

A confusing one is Bargeddie which comes with Glasgow postcodes and Glasow phone numbers but is a lanarkshire mining village.

I have a North Lanarkshire ML postcode and live in West Lothian....
Common when you live in no mans land!:smt068 :help:

Confuses the hell out of the NHS and sometimes even the council tax office who should know better.

St John's hospital Livingston got in the huff and just about turfed us out the morning our baby was born 'cos the ward sister saw our address and decided we shouldn't be there!:-s
