On another point......

When I was at the garage there was a brand new Kwak 1000 reg "10" in black and as I was admiring it, walked round the otherside and it was badly scraped. Said to the guy, crikey is that a test ride bike. He said No, customer had just picked it up, gone up the road, got as far as the roundabout, bout half a mile and come straight off. How gutted would you be???? OMG

:???: I hadn't even realised that the 10 reg's were out til I read your post.
When it's that new it would upset me in a totally different way though - it's purely a cost thing as you would have to put it back to as new. Whereas I've always had to put up with looking at all my scratches/damage etc. every single day because I never fix them

About as gutted as the guy I once watched pick up a brand new buell, pull out of the car park, give it a handful and immediately lowside it as the back spins up and steps out...

Distance covered on new bike? About 10yrds.

Quite common, every dealer can tell a few of those stories. People are often buying a bike that is a big step up in power and throttle response, then forget they are on brand new tyres that haven't been scrubbed in.
